... like we would make it to the hotel by 6:00. However, 94 west was horrible. We hit multiple stretches of serious traffic - with no observable cause. I have no idea what the problem was. We would literally get through one patch, get back up to 70 mph, and then all of a sudden everyone was breaking again. It ended up adding an entire hour onto our drive. Then when we finally got to the Motel 6 we're staying at, ...

We stopped for dinner at a Perkins where we decided instead of going all the way to South Dakota, we would stop in Luverne for the night. Mom was a bit road weary and ready for a stretch and a good night's sleep.

Our total mileage for today was 386 miles. Tomorrow we're heading for the Western side of South Dakota! We'll see if we get there!

The last morning we woke up and got on the road by 7:40. We stopped in Minnesota for gas, but we did not stop until we got to Waunakee. In all, that was about a 7-hour drive! We drove 1,626 miles on this trip and we consumed about 218 gallons of gas!

I never told all of you that my dad did not shave the entire week, and now he is growing a ...

Today we finally got the RV for the road trip. It's huge! 31 feet of pure awesome! There's a plasma TV, a diner booth, and so much more. We packed the camper and I can't wait to go to sleep because I'm so tired!
My dad is going to get us up early in the morning tomorrow, and Mom is not happy.
Whatever goes down in the morning, I'm anxious to get on the road! Tomorrow I'll tell you all about the Corn Palace in Mitchell! See you then!
