It's Christmas Day and my present to myself is to be climbing into my car and head'n down the rod to Washington DC - the weather service suggests generally good weather for DC and I have always wanted to go to the Smithsonian, so, as I was so close (400 miles / 600 km) it seemed like a good idea!

And we're off! Our fifth fall RV adventure has begun...hard to believe. We're excited to be traveling in our new (to us) fifth wheel with plans to visit the national parks in North Dakota, Montana, Washington, Oregon and California. We'll start and end our travels with visits from Zach, Nicole and Isaac which is an added bonus. Katie won't be able to meet us because she just found out ...

... We pretty much had our pick of tent sites at the KOA and Anthony found a beauty on the edge of a marsh in front of Sandusky Bay. We didn't have much luck building a fire for lack of kindling, but we were too tired to care. After setting up camp, we quickly made some sandwiches and put some food and beer in our bellies and hit the rack about 9:00PM. ...

... of trees (with faces) and a racoon. These figures 'performed' to music for about 10mins (something about not being scared of nature). The movement of the figures was laughable (and slightly scary) and reminded me of the old Hillbillies shooting game you used to see at the amusement arcade where you'd hit a target next to the bathtub and granpaw would rise from his bath shouting something indecipherable. The kids however ...
