... Also, all but one trail was flooded and even sections of the boardwalk path were under water, from recent floods. We walked as far as we could, looking at old growth hardwood forest and squirrels.

Then set off and arrived at Santee State Park. John spotted turkey vultures nearby. Beautiful wooded campground next to Lake Marion, largest lake in South Carolina, built by damming the Santee River in the 1940s. Warm weather at last. So good to be able to live outdoors ...

We woke up to 8 inches of snow but the sun came out about 9. The hotel did not plow the parking lot but did have scrapers for guests! Richard thought we'd find the same price on down the road. NO...it was $3.00. Did we stop? Nahhh...kept going. At 1/8 of a tank, we did get gas...only it was $3.03. All I can say is, it's a lot less than at ...

... to update, a truck inspection to do, WD-40 to buy, oil to check.... Pet peeve: restrooms with no paper towels Why? Well..... #1: the blowers don't dry your hands #2: you (and everyone else) have to touch everything on the way out #3: if you need to wash your face you have to dry it on your dress #4: the blowers are loud One more thing. I can't figure out why automatic flush toilets always flush while I'm still sitting on ...
