    Originally I published this entry to get the starting location for our trip. Then I noticed it got a lot of hits, so here's my saga of packing.

    When did packing become so hard? I seem to recall when I was younger I'd slam dunk things in the suitcase in one hour and be ready to go. Over the years, packing seems to have exploded into a multi-day, tension-filled process.

    ... to downtown. I met a girl from my dorm, from California, that came along with me for the day. I knew the first thing I wanted to do, was go to lake Michigan, being a massive Kanye fan, it seemed compulsory as I was in chi town. When arriving, my immediate question "where's the lake then?", all I could see was a beach with what I thought was an ocean washing up on it.     Never knew they could squeeze so many people into economy. Only person I could see who looked at all in proportion to their seat was the tiny four year old girl across the aisle.

    Our driver doesn't meet us at Lima airport so we taxi it here to our small but adequate B&B in Barranco.

    Graham is smart- he is sleeping right now. I feel like rubbish but should buck up by dinner.

    After a late start, a major traffic jam on I-55 over the Kankakee River (1 hour for 3 miles) and a wrong turn by Busch Stadium, we arrived at our campsite at 8:30.
