We arrived at the Newmar complex in Nappanee, IN, at 5PM eastern time. The drive shaft on our motor home's back slide-out fractured and Newmar will fix it under warranty.

Getting ready for a long trip is always hectic. We crammed in all the appointments (doctor, dentist, hair, etc.), visiting friends and packing into two weeks. To make it more stressful, we decided I should make Emeril Lagasse's Vegetarian ...

          Packing for the Trip

It's like the diva herself is auto tuning the words "This is the beginning of the rest of your life" to me, and only me.

... ideas and decided not follow orders! Urban Holiday Lofts is a hostel that is 3 floors of converted apartments and lofts, so it was a nice surprise when our dorm was very big and spacious, with a sort of kitchenette! A very nice place to stay after our last few hostels... The next day we headed into the city towards the Willis Tower, the tallest building in the USA, but when we got there they told us it was 0% visibility because ...

After a late start, a major traffic jam on I-55 over the Kankakee River (1 hour for 3 miles) and a wrong turn by Busch Stadium, we arrived at our campsite at 8:30.

Despite the crummy drive – there were bright spots. We saw several pristine vintage cars while driving I-55 (part of historic Route 66). A 1967 Camero Super Sport convertible in jewel tone turquoise breezed by on the ...
