Spent last night in Eucha, Oklahoma with Linda and Earl. Linda and I were stationed on Okinawa together. It was great to catch up.
I was not sure I would be able to leave as severe thunderstorms were predicted. Fortunately it was just low dark clouds. As I traveled north the skies began to lighten and clear.

Got a late start today. It was 7:35 before we hit the road. We had breakfast a little after 8:00 at Subway. They have a great $3.00 deal. We caught the Loess Scenic Byway not too long after that and wandered around heading south on the back country route. It was pretty much cornfields and soy bean fields and if you've seen one you've pretty much seen them all. Some of them just seemed to go forever. Certainly as far as we could ...

Today we got in the car and drove to Nevada... Iowa! I took a long nap and that felt so good. Then we arrived in Brooklyn... Iowa! We said we all wished it was home but that washed away when we started eating at the "classic" deli. Emma and I had a make your own sand witches with turkey pickles and mozzarella for Emma ...
