      ... obviously a commercial port and the ferry port to Cyprus. We went for a walk to the sea (500m) (Annie was very happy to see Orange trees in the street , and Jackerander and Hibiscus in full flower, plus Bougainvillea but oddly only the small flowered pink one) and on our way back it clearly wasn’t difficult to locate the hotel, it must the tallest building in town by 30 floors.

      ... on top. Murat said of this mountain:"often she hides her face". But not today. We skirted the mountain and found that it would be with us all the way to Kayseri. We saw her from three sides.

      Goodbyes were being exchanged as we motored across the plateau. I was leaving the group in Kayseri; most were flying to Istanbul; some off on other adventures....
