    ... We found a beautiful spot by a small dry river for lunch; as you can see in the second picture half an Effes beer has had an effect on the co-pilot.

    Whoa, the main driver had a nap after 300km and being forced to consume beer to keep the afternoon driver safe.

    ... through that landscape I relished the life of nothing but the sky and the road. It felt like a real adventure. At times I grabbed hold of the back of tractors up the hills - I decided its not cheating if I'm still sat on the saddle.     ... Here you can see the Roman Gate that is also known as "Cleopatra's Gate" and sometimes referred to as "Gate of the *****". Why? Who knows.

    Actually, having seen the city, I would have chosen a different spot to visit as there was really little to see here. However, if you are interested in religious relics this might be up your alley.

    100 km E to the neo-Hittite site of Karatepe, crossing the river Ceyhan, thru fields of glowing sunflowers and then up into olive & conifer foothills.
