Kom iväg på vårt lov till bergen igen. Thanksgiving är stort här men jag tror att julen är större! De flesta firar med sin närmsta familj och äter det klassiska, stuffed turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoe, gravy, baked squash och till efterrätt pumpkin pie. Det är precis som i Sverige kring julen en liten balansgång mellan att behållla det helt traditionellt och modernisera, vilket betyder att man gör lite olika.

... de flesta skidorter, men den ligger å andra sidan längre in på säsongen. Hade i alla fall en fantastisk dag med tre barn som älskar skidor (ja, om man får tillräckligt med mat på regelbundna tider om ni förstår vad jag menar).

... behind tomorrow and get back to van living. We are heading into Boulder in the morning to do some exploring and hit the first brewery in Colorado, for our stately brewery visit. From there were going to drive to northern Colorado and camp it up and at one of trusty KOA's making us that much closer to South Dakota.

... hike even further up but that was just not appealing to me, I was high enough thank you very much! And did I mention how freakin’ COLD it was up there?! 42 degrees to be exact. I haven’t felt 42 degrees since last Christmas time! Suprisingly, I was not affected by the elevation at all. REALLY suprising considering I live below sea level and now I was 14K feet in the air! ... s what maps are for) but I smiled and professed my love of hiking(oh sometimes we lie and yes I feel somewhat dirty for it). Now I had to follow our girls up another peak and of course they excelled (sometimes you have admiration and yet a deep down loathing) at the ascent. At one point Deb stopped in the led to shed cloths (I think she may have looked at the solar panels again) of course by the time yours truly made it to her position she was ready to continue, it was ...

... lunch. After we ate we took in a few shops and then hopped back on the bikes again so that we'd be back in time to return them to the rental company. But....once again we got stuck in a hail storm and had to take cover under a tree.

This was my favorite activity on the trip, and the weather just added to the excitement and we will always look back on it and laugh!

We spent the rest of the afternoon/evening exploring the shops in the Vail Village-which is an adorable German architecture looking resort town. We had dinner at Up The Creek
which is more of an "up-scale" restaurant. It was a little harder to find as it was set off of the main road directly on the creek.

... Restaurant,a charming victorian style restaurant with affordable pricing, in the historic Delaware Hotel. We finished up the sight seeing at the National Mining Hall of Fame & Museum and met back up with the shuttle at 3:00pm to return to Vail.Overall, it was a pleasant day...but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to visit Leadville...

... international and invited us to stay with them. It is a far cry from a Marriott Vacation Club, where we normally stay, as the decor & rooms areslightly dated, however, the staff was pleasant and the condo was clean. The resort also provided daily activities that really did make our trip wonderful. We did not really spend much time here, so I do not have too much more to add regarding this accommodation.

This year we skied for two weeks and both spring skiing and some good snow. We skied Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, and Arapahoe Basin. One day Peter and Ron took the day off and went fly fishing with a guide in Silverthorne. It was cold and they caught one fish but they still had a good time. Mike and Laurie joined us for a couple of days which was great!
