We drove into Pensacola this morning and met Zack and Ann Baisden at Cracker Barrel. Zack & Ray have known each other since about 6th grade. They were neighbors and graduated from High School together. It has been over 10 years since we last saw Zack. It was nice meeting his wife Ann. They have been married 5 years. Great Family Vacation
I took my family here for spring break, and the experience was delightful. We loved the ocean view and watched the sunset from our patio almost nightly. The hotel's atmosphere has a good blend of adult and family feel to it, so everyone has a good time. We also loved the location-not in the middle of the tourist hustle and bustle but a quick jaunt from the beach activites and all of the great restaurants (including the hotel's Bon Appetit restaurant-don't miss the brunch). The room itself was so spacious that my family successfully shared it with no fights! We most definitely will return to the Bay Beach Inn on our next Pensacola trip.
Our anniversary trip
We were very concerned about the negative reviews we saw on this site, but the great price convinced us to take a chance for our anniversary trip. We could not have been more pleasantly suprised! The management was great, our room was clean and right on the beach as promised. Did I mention that the advertisement about the sunsets and wine being free is true? Free mimosas were a lovely part of our vacation mornings! :) I dont know if this Inn has simply done an amazing overhaul, but the negative reviews that we saw definitely did not apply. We will be booking our next Pensacola trip here!
Blast at the Bay Beach Inn

Like the others I too searched this motel out via their website. It looked like a dream come true for the value the offered. I had the misfortune of being asked to make a trip down to the coast at the last minute during a very booked weekend all over. First alarm that went off was at checking in when they told me my Visa declined, knowing full well I had plenty of credit on my card. Next was the sign informing me they did not acccept check cards either. I had to use thier ATM for cash to pay for the room. I booked a premium room with a view of the bay or the pool. The view was of the bay if I was standing in the parking lot. The room was filthy, food and trash behind the night table. Trash in the drawers, horrible stains all over the carpet. Holes in the blankets. Lamp shades had mold and rust, lamps were broken. Dirt and crude on all the furniture. No fans in the bathroom, therefore mold on the tiles. No water pressure and hot water comes and goes. It was the cheapest looking hotel I had the misfortune of having to spend two nights at in my life. The only plus they have is the bayfront and a nice restrurant. I would advise anyone else to sleep in thier cars before staying in this hotel. I wrote them a long list of the horrors of thier rooms and gave it to them at check out. The clerk was very rude when I handed it to her and verbaly told her how dirty the room had been. No apology offered.
Website is good but not the Inn
Like all we looked at the website and got our booking done. It sounded like a very good deal! But once we reached there and saw the Inn we were so disappointed. We had planned earlier that if the Inn will be as good as the website we will stay longer, but after looking at the Inn we decided to leave the next day itself. Our toliet clogged up in the middle of the night, there was something wrong with the flush. Inspite being at a good location it is a shady place to stay at.
We came down for the weekend. I noticed that the lamp shades were rusted. We took showers regularly. The hot water was off and on during all of the showers I took. The bed linens smelled of previous occupants. I wondered if and when they were laundered. The door had to be slammed for it to shut completely. I got my receipt that said that my three night stay was $226.00. I went on Sunday afternoon and had lunch and found out that my credit card declined my lunch. Upon checking, they had in fact billed my credit card $274 and some change.
I was headed on a road trip to Florida with a few of my friends and we booked all our hotels in advance over the internet and telephone. The bay beach inn looked really nice on their website, I thought it would be a very nice night. Once we got into our room we noticed a few things that made us really uncomfortable though. All the lamp shades were rusted through, the curtain looked like it had blood stains on it, coffee spills on all the tables, all the carpet was wet and lumpy, there was a huge group of bugs and there was a dirty towel left in the room. What kind of cleaning service is that? When we decided we weren't going to stay the night in that room we went to work it out with the manager and she quick listened to what we had to say and threw the key down and walked out. She, and the people at the front desk wouldn't even take a look at the room so we could show them what was wrong. I hope that place goes out of business real soon. I guess the main thing I've learned is that I do have the responsibility to ask to see my room before I check into it but I don't think anything as discusting as that room should still be in existance.
Saw this hotel on the internet and it looked beautiful and sounded like an incredible deal. Got to the hotel and the carpet in our room was wet with hard, mysterious bumps throughout the room. The tops of the lamp shades were rusted, there were stains on the curtains and nightstand that resembled blood (of course, we could not know for sure that it was, it may have been coffee I guess but it more resembled blood), there was a wadded up towel stuck behind the bathroom door, bugs (both dead and alive) throughout the room, and the bed spreads were disgusting and had cigarette stains...in a non-smoking room, of all places. We had dropped our luggage off in the room and left for about 5 hours to run some errands. When we come back, we realized our room was worse than we had originally thought when we had dropped our belongings off. Called down to the front desk and they sent a maintenance man to take care of the bugs and towel...which meant the man came in, kicked the bugs out the door with his shoe, and took the towel away. We soon decided we did not want to spend one single night in this hotel, so we went to the front desk to explain the situation and to check out. We were apalled with the reaction we received. They were going to make us pay for half the night, even though we didn't stay for the night at all. The women at the front desk called for the manager, the manager discussed the situation for not more than 5 minutes, threw the hotel keys down and left the premises for the rest of the night. That left us with the women at the front desk again, who claimed they couldn't do anything without the manager. Beautiful view of the gulf, nice landscape and small but nice beach - HORRIBLE hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE.
I stayed at this hotel because my flight home was cancelled and the airline sent me to here to spend the night...what a dreadful night.The hotel location is extrememly beautiful...but that's all was beautiful about it. My first thought about my room was that it looked comfortable but it was the exact opposite. I was so uncomfortable the whole night and I could not wait for morning to come so I could get out of there as soon as possible. It was a cold night and the heating refused to work. I woke up in the middle of the night to find two spiders crawling on one of the pillows. It was not until morning that I discovered that there were spider webs all over the wall above the bed and around the heating- I felt so sick and I was extremely upset. Considering the fact that I was already ill before I came to stay at this place...all I wanted to do was get a good night rest before my flight in the morning. This hotel is an extreme disappointment. Even the staff were cold and unhelpful. I compared it to the hotel I had been staying before which was not perfect but this hotel is what I would call "Pathetic"!I would never ever stay at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone even those on a really tight budget. Its too dirty.
Unsatisfied at Bay Beach Inn
I was very unhappy with this motel. Although it was on a beautiful piece of property, the hotel itself needed work for $99 per night. The night we check we noticed mildew/mold growing on the walls, the room was very mildewy. The mildew in the room actually made us sick. We asked to switch rooms and were made to feel like we had the problem, the maintenece man came in and told us that it was just humid. I live in Florida, and the humidity does not do that to my home. Also the toliet clogged up and over flowed. I think if I ever go back to the area I'll stay in a motel 6, that hotel looked to be really nice.
