Horrible Hotel and Service
Checked in hotel @ 3:30 am on 2/19/05. Night person acted as if we were bothering because we wanted to check in. After about 10 minutes of him pecking on the computer we were finally given room keys.
At 8:30 am on 2/19/05 got ready to shower and pulled back the shower curtain and there was mold all around the tub. Went to the front desk and told them i needed to be moved to another room and desk clerk informed that I would not be able to move until around 2 pm. I let desk clerk know I was in town for a family function and could not wait around for them to decide when it will be convient for them to move me. Was informed that they would be able to move me to another room once i returned to the hotel. Once back at the hotel around 7 pm i stopped at the front desk and was then informed that they had no rooms availiable to move me to.
Needles to say I will NEVER stay at this hotel again
Horrible service was provided from the time me and my family checked in to the time we checked out.
Ok accomodations, but helpfulness is AOK
Spent 3 nights here for a conference at a neighboring hotel. I will warn you, this section of Tampa is very spread out, so the reliance on a rental car, taxi, or the hotel's FREE shuttle service is necessary.
Rooms were clean, need some updating, but nothing bad to say about them. The shuttle drivers were so helpful and friendly. They were willing to drive you almost anywhere!
I noticed that many flight crews from Delta and Southwest stay there, too. Also, there were many NY Yankee fans staying at the hotel--I believe it was close to the team's spring training facilities. I'd avoid the seafood restaurant attached to the hotel...went there for breakfast one day and found it to be overpriced and underserved.
Tip: call the hotel before you arrive and let them know you'll need a shuttle pickup when your flight lands.
A great deal!
For a 3 day stay in Tampa during June 2004, we booked a great rate through Expedia and were pleasantly surprised. The room was nice, a king with a walkout balcony and great view of the bay. We enjoyed the pool and restaurant. The hotel is centrally located to Busch Gardens and St Petersburg beaches. We would definitely consider staying again.
Poor service/Dirty Rooms/Mold/Showing it's age
Mold on the ceilings. Huge water stains all over the ceiling (wonder how much leaked out on the beds??). Carpet in the room had multiple blood-like stains. Management said it was orange gatorade (stains were red). Poor air condition system. Dirty bathroom. Poor maid service. Multiple burnt out lightbulbs. Room switch refused.
Guess they save their 'bad' rooms for Priceline customers.
To top off our lackluster stay, the fire alarm sounded at 5:30am. How neat it was to gather in the lobby with 100+ guests with curlers in their hair and dressed in pj's. No fire, just some steam from someone's shower set off the alarm. Did management bother to notify all of the panicked people that it was 'ok' and to go back to their rooms???? NO!!! We lined up like cattle for 45 minutes until a desk clerk appeared and said that the 'coffee was free' this morning. No apology of anything. Also, upon evacuation, the concrete stairwell leading out of the second floor had no ligthing. This was a huge safety violation.
Great view, lotion, service and hotel
This is the second time we have stayed here. First time was last year when I saw George Steinbrenner in the parking lot with a big NY Yankee plate on back. I figured if he could stay here the pplace must be O.K. Turns out he owns it. Even with Yankees nor Steinbrenner being at top of my list, this hotel is friendly, great with people. Matt ,Dennis, Craig as guest services managers, Judith, Sara , Kiki at front desk , Christina and others in housekeeping have Steinbrenner filling his key positions with key players like he does his infamous Yankess. As I said I am not a Yankee fan but I am a total fan of the great people , service and stay at the Radisson Harbour Bay. (---)
Way over priced spend your money somewhere else!!
The room that I stayed in was awfull. The carpet had several stains, there were half eaten sunflower seeds on the nightstand when I arrived. There was a wet spot on the carpet. The maid service was terrible, all they did was make the bed and leave new towels if you were lucky. They did not vacuum, clean the sink or shower, clean the ice bucket day to day or the coffee machine. This hotel is way to expensive for that type of service. The view was great but not worth 150.00 per night for the service and condition of the room that you receive.
My wife is from Tampa and we were visiting there. Never had too much luck with the hotels in this city, but I got a great surprise with this hotel and found a package on Expedia. This is a New York Yankee hotel it appears as everything is named for a Yankee player. The Yankees train in this area in the spring. Maybe Steinbrenner owns it? Anyway, The newly-opened restaurant is incredible....great food, great prices and great service. Honestly everything we ate was wonderful! The rooms are clean, very nice, roomy and offered us a great view of the bay with access to a balcony replete with a table and chairs. We would absolutely stay here again. Bathroom is very nice and large. Bed is very comfortable. Close to the Westshore business/entertainment area and to Clearwater. You need a car however to get around. Nice pool and exercise facility which we didnt use.
Great Views of Tampa Bay!
Good deal from Expedia! Hotel was very clean, staff friendly (especially in restaurant). Restaurant was just opening but staff was great! Location was good but definitely need a car to get around. Nothing within walking distance. Ask for a bayview room...great views of Tampa Bay. I would definitely stay here again!!
I was in Tampa for the Outback bowl on Jan 1. The hotel offers great views of the bay and is easy to get to. The only down side is the lack of resturants. The staff was awesome answering all of our questions.
The room was large and clean. I would stay here again if I'm in the area.
Fab Views across Tampa Bay
We stayed here for 3 nights during a break from Orlando, following a trip to Clearwater Beach. We loved the position of the hotel overlooking the causeway with aview of Clearwter and the pelicans fishing at the waters edge. The rooms were big compared to the room we stayed in in Orlando - more like our good hotel rooms in UK. very clean. Hotel reception excellent the staff were really helpful and friendly. It seemed to be a place for airline staff to stay, we were the only ones in the pool with the same view as our room.
didnt use restaurants as it didn't fit in with our plans but we did go to the gorgeous International Plaza (i think it was called) superb shopping - although a little too designer for our pocket (louis vitton etc) but Kahunaville restaaurant was absoloutely one of the highlights of our holiday - great surroundings, great food and all a little different.

Everything is so different here in Florida. It's hard to describe what exactly has changed and what to attribute it too. The weather has not dipped below 30C, the attitude is so laid back I wonder how anything gets done, and the environment has palm trees and Spanish moss draping itself all over the deciduous trees. I'm in the city but there are not that many people and everyone seems to be sitting down if I do spot anyone! I'm in the most amazing hostel called 'Grams ...

Of course, once you get your bags, you need to check them in again and, oh yeah, get to go through airport security again...our thrill-o-meter was just about pegged at this point. We finally were helped with the bags by a baggage agent and a quick strategy for getting through security ASAP by a TSA guy. We arrived at the gate carrying my ...
