We finally managed to get into one of the onsite restaurants. We had dinner this evening at La Luna Steakhouse. You do not have to pay at the restraints but you do need a reservation and it can take days to be able to get in. Regardless of the wait it was a great experience. Today was spent on the resort, not the beach, just in and around the resort grounds. We took the time to walk the grounds some more and see the wildlife up a little closer. There are quite a variety of birds living on the grounds. The ones we recognize are peacocks, pigeons, geese, flamingos and cranes. There are several species that we do not recognize as well. ... picked a bed under a woodpecker who was making a best / hole in the tree and every so often we got covered with the debris he was kicking out the hole. We also watched a wierd beetle / flying thing for some time hoping woody might eat him. Thinking back, we realise that 99% of the guests arrive at Punta Cana Airport, just twenty minutes south of the resort. Virtually no one drives all the way from Santo Domingo through Higüey, hence there are no signs on this route. Even the man at Nouvelles Frontières had thought we’d come from the local airport and had driven right by the resort without seeing the sign.
