We almost didn't get on the road this morning - turned the key and the motorhome wouldn't start! Luckily, we got going early enough in the morning that it gave Greg time to figure out that it was the battery, he got it jumped, and we found a new one in Monroe, went over and bought it and installed it, and we were on the road by Noon!
Nothing special at this park, just an overnight stop on our way...

Afterwards, we went over to Roslyn, an even smaller nearby town, which was a coal mining hub in the 19th and 20th Centuries. We had a good time going up and down the rows of the ancient cemetery, reading the dates and creating stories about the people there.
After that, we headed over to the downtown district, which played the role of ...

When I am getting into Seattle I have to book my bed for the night last minute... What can you do if there is no wifi access on the train and the phone doesn't have service? Not my fault. Some hostel will take me in and provide me with a hot shower soon!

Historical Traveler Reviews Bavarian Lodge Leavenworth
As a former Flight Attendant, I have stayed in MANY hotels, and it takes alot to impress me, but I was blown away by the Bavarian Lodge! We stayed in one of the village view fireplace rooms, and it was so clean and comfortable, I wanted to move in. Everything about this hotel is stunning, from the rooms to the decor. The most amazing thing about this Lodge is the little touches. The ice machines have individual bags of ice for your room, so no noisy, clunking chunks of ice falling like from regular ice machines. The rooms also come with Q-tips and cotton rounds right in the room...I know, a little thing, but a big one to me!
Feels like a vacation in the room!
We loved staying at the Bavarian Lodge! Right in town, right where all of the action is. The lobby is inviting & charming! The rooms are cozy, comfy, and clean. The staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast is fine for a "comes with the room" meal. And the price is great! We go to Leavenworth EVERY year, this is our new place to stay for every visit!
This great hotel is just across the street from all the shops.
I just got home from a 2 week vacation that included 2 nights at the Bavarian Lodge in Leavenworth; out of all the hotels I've stayed in, both on this vacation and others the Bavarian Lodge falls near the top of the list.
Perfect location in town.

This hotel is awesome, a great suprise. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean with great amenities. Tasty breakfast buffet. Only complaint is if you don't like firm pillows take your own.
We stayed here in December 2005 in a Turret Suite...it was awesome. We were able to watch and hear the entire Christmas lighting ceremony from our room. We stayed again in January 2006 with our children and were able to watch the Ice Festival fireworks show right from our room. We are staying again in February 2006 with friends and are sure we will have a wonderful time once again. You can't go wrong with this lodge. The decor does not get any better!
This was a wonderful lodge! Rooms were very clean and quite large. The staff was accommodating and there was fresh coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cider, and cookies in the lobby for guests. The only downside was that the walls are quite thin and we had a group of partiers next door. Bring ear plugs to get a great night's sleep.
Wow, one beautiful lodge. This hotel has got to be one of the nicest hotel rooms I ever stayed in for the price -- no, it is the nicest. So many, many attention to details, especially in your own room. What an average hotel does, this lodge is a cut above the rest. This family-owned hotel beautifully displays their exquisite decorating skills throughout the hotel and in the rooms, and it is evident the owners have high-quality standards. Everyone was extremely friendly and so were the owners who introduced themselves. The lobby itself is a lovely gift shop and is so comfy, too. You have to give this place a try. You won't be sorry, believe me. Even the complimentary breakfast was excellent and, again, the high quality of the food and even the presentation was impressive. They have a pool and two hot tubs, also. Like the title reads, I am very picky. I inspect sheets, matresses and if a window is dirty, I will complain. My husband was happy too!We stopped at Run of the River after its great reviews, but could not justify that cost when the sun is setting before 5 p.m. There was no way he was going to give us a military discount. So glad we drove on to the lodge! We wouldn't even think of staying anywhere else.
