Historical Traveler Reviews Bavarian Lodge Leavenworth
As a former Flight Attendant, I have stayed in MANY hotels, and it takes alot to impress me, but I was blown away by the Bavarian Lodge! We stayed in one of the village view fireplace rooms, and it was so clean and comfortable, I wanted to move in. Everything about this hotel is stunning, from the rooms to the decor. The most amazing thing about this Lodge is the little touches. The ice machines have individual bags of ice for your room, so no noisy, clunking chunks of ice falling like from regular ice machines. The rooms also come with Q-tips and cotton rounds right in the room...I know, a little thing, but a big one to me!
All in all, the Bavarian Lodge was exceptional. The staff is warm, friendly and helpful with anything I asked of them.
When you go to Leavenworth...stay at the Bavarian Lodge...you will never want to stay anywhere else!!!
Feels like a vacation in the room!
We loved staying at the Bavarian Lodge! Right in town, right where all of the action is. The lobby is inviting & charming! The rooms are cozy, comfy, and clean. The staff was extremely helpful. The breakfast is fine for a "comes with the room" meal. And the price is great! We go to Leavenworth EVERY year, this is our new place to stay for every visit!
WOW! The best hotel ever.
This great hotel is just across the street from all the shops.
This is important, as parking is limited and difficult.
Check-in was ridiculously easy and fun--the staff is impeccable.
We walked into our room and had that 'WOW' feeling.
The room was perfect! The room colors were inviting and soft. The Bavarian theme was felt throughout.
The quality was superb--there were even granite windowsills.
Our king bed was super soft and comfy--there were 5 fluffy pillows with a down comforter.
There were Starbucks coffee packets and Tazo Teas in the refrigerator/snack area of the room.
This was a hotel we didn't want to leave--we actually brought lunch over and ate it at the pool area.
We've travelled quite a bit thru the USA and Europe and found this hotel to be among one of the top 3 places we've ever stayed in.
We'll make a point of coming back to Leavenworth just for this hotel.
Well worth it!
I just got home from a 2 week vacation that included 2 nights at the Bavarian Lodge in Leavenworth; out of all the hotels I've stayed in, both on this vacation and others the Bavarian Lodge falls near the top of the list.
Here is what stands out:
The beds: outstandingly comfortable; a real boon considering most of the time one spends in a hotel room is spent sleeping.
The location: directly across the street from the park in downtown Leavenworth, one only needs walk 2 or 3 blocks before hitting numerous restaurants, shops, etc.
The overall decor: They've taken some time and care with everything from lamps and bedspread to wall color to the personal photos they've hung on the wall. The decorating is restful to the eyes and a welcome departure from the typical hotel decor.
The breakfast: Pretty standard fare; eggs, bread, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, etc. They could have used more fresh fruit (only had apples and Orange juice) - the food was interesting and filling (cheese and egg omelet and the biscuits and gravy were delicious) and set us up for a good morning. The dining room was comfortable and uncrowded our first morning there, the second morning half of the room was reserved and there were limited seats but we were able to take our trays outside and enjoy breakfast in the gazebo.
The staff: The only hotel we stayed in where every staff person was always smiling AND there was no weird pressure to tip the maids (what is this new convention to leave envelopes suggesting tip amounts in your hotel room?)
There are other things to commend Bavarian Lodge; despite being on a busy street there was no street noise with the window closed, also no noise from neighbors, interesting gift shop in hotel lobby -
CONS: on the expensive side - the weeknight price is much more reasonable at 129, weekends at 149 are a little steep but after seeing the hotel I believe the rates are justified
Overall; a great place to stay and one I hope to visit again the next time I find myself in Leavenworth.
Pick this one if you are staying at leavenworth!!
it had a nice view.. of the parking lot. [but we were in the back.]
the biscuits were so dry like fruit cake.. but thats only because i put jam on it.
the deepest the pooll got was 4 foot 4 inches. deep i know.
the lodge was full of deer heads.
but the staff was really nice.
the rooms were nice but the beds were NOT oversized. if anything they were fulls not queenns i dont think. i dont know.
but it was in the middle of the town. so that was good.
ok well out of all the hotels there you should pick this one though. because it was nice-r than the other ones.
if you are staying in leavenworth then you should DEFINITELY stay in this one.
i didnt even ANY of the other ones so they werent close to town and then there were a few SMALL ones that were above the stores? which is kinda cool//weird.
oh yeah they have a LITTLE library of like.. 15 DVD's but we watched day after tommorow and walk the line. they also had family man and some other good ones. and they were all free.. you can rent board games like monopoly and scrabble and UNO and stuff.
AND COLDSTONE WAS ACROSS THE STREET.
overall it was good
also if you are eating there these places are good:
the place at the corner by the corner store.. called the munchen something. their hot dogs are really good and their chili is good too.
the pizza place right by the bavarian lodge.
and the chocolate place at the end of the little village
and MAKE SURE TO GO TO THE TAFFY STORE.. it is DELICIOUS taffy.
Perfect location in town.
Newer Hotel has a Great view in the middle of Levenworth. easy walking
across the street to shopping Starbucks food and drinks.. Well done.......

This hotel is awesome, a great suprise. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean with great amenities. Tasty breakfast buffet. Only complaint is if you don't like firm pillows take your own.
We stayed here in December 2005 in a Turret Suite...it was awesome. We were able to watch and hear the entire Christmas lighting ceremony from our room. We stayed again in January 2006 with our children and were able to watch the Ice Festival fireworks show right from our room. We are staying again in February 2006 with friends and are sure we will have a wonderful time once again. You can't go wrong with this lodge. The decor does not get any better!
This was a wonderful lodge! Rooms were very clean and quite large. The staff was accommodating and there was fresh coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cider, and cookies in the lobby for guests. The only downside was that the walls are quite thin and we had a group of partiers next door. Bring ear plugs to get a great night's sleep.
Picky traveler was highly impressed
Wow, one beautiful lodge. This hotel has got to be one of the nicest hotel rooms I ever stayed in for the price -- no, it is the nicest. So many, many attention to details, especially in your own room. What an average hotel does, this lodge is a cut above the rest. This family-owned hotel beautifully displays their exquisite decorating skills throughout the hotel and in the rooms, and it is evident the owners have high-quality standards. Everyone was extremely friendly and so were the owners who introduced themselves. The lobby itself is a lovely gift shop and is so comfy, too. You have to give this place a try. You won't be sorry, believe me. Even the complimentary breakfast was excellent and, again, the high quality of the food and even the presentation was impressive. They have a pool and two hot tubs, also. Like the title reads, I am very picky. I inspect sheets, matresses and if a window is dirty, I will complain. My husband was happy too!We stopped at Run of the River after its great reviews, but could not justify that cost when the sun is setting before 5 p.m. There was no way he was going to give us a military discount. So glad we drove on to the lodge! We wouldn't even think of staying anywhere else.

Nice fairly sunny day start today. George did have some drooling on and off this morning but got better by the afternoon. Did run into a bit of snow on the sides of the roads going over the White Pass but mostly heavy rain on and off. Stopped at Randal for lunch at "The Cafe" which was a ...

I was excited to see central Washington as it's a place I'd never seen before. The drive from Seattle to Wenatchee was beautiful, driving along US2 was scenic and it was a gorgeous day. Wenatchee itself is much more industrial than I imagined, I assume its reputation as the apple capital of the world has something to do with that. ...
