... and sit on the porch. It's a great old property! We enjoyed a leisurely bike downhill back to town for BBQ lunch and t-shirt shopping and now here we sit soaking up our last few minutes on the island at the Harbourview porch before taking the 3pm ferry back to St Ignace and reuniting with our ...

... On arrival, a helpful luggage porter from our hotel met us to pick up our bags and direct us to our room for the night. Main Street was bustling with tourists, fudge and t-shirt shops - a very close picture to Oak Bluffs on a busy summer day. The original Murdicks fudge is on island. We started out at 8:30 this morning, only 30 minutes after my overly optimistic goal. We had a late lunch at Big Boy in Bridgeport, Michigan.

  • Arrived Mackinac Island.
  • Walked around and grabbed lunch at VERY NICE dog-friendly burger place.
  • Rented bikes (there are no motor-driven vehicles on the island).
    • We rented two (2) bikes and one "carrier" for Rosie, attached to mine.
    • Sue rode "watcher" behind me and kept me clued-in with Rosie's activities ...

    Stopped for the night

Another 6 hour drive and we had to just call it a day to recharge.

Days Inn was all that was "pet friendly" but actually a nice place, right on the lake.

Tomorrow, we plan to head south for a place to spend a couple of days and then toward Columbus, Ohio.

Goal is to be home by Saturday to re-charge before next Monday....
