... On the subject of signs, it's very pleasing to see very few traffic or other signs around, no sign clutter!! There's a lot to like about this part of Germany, the people are helpful, friendly, courteous to cyclists and go quietly about their work. The only downside I can see is their smoking habits, everyone smokes! There are cigarette vending machines in hotels, in the streets and even the side of the road, a pack of twenty costs ...

... from our hotel. Got rather hot riding today, apparently 26C here in Straubing. Got a cold drink soon as we arrived in Straubing and had a rest, tonight's Hotel was just over the road.
