We have spent the last week in Phuket, Thailand resting and relaxing. The first few days we were in Patong Beach while Rick recovered. Once he was feeling better we were able to do some shopping and sightseeing. We decided to move from the Royal Palm Resort Hotel to the Baumanburi resort as it was cheaper and had a cool looking pool. It had a swim up bar and these cool built in spa recliner seats. We made sure a cocktail and swim was had before dinner every night. We also both got a tradition...
Phuket, Thailand eatdessertfirst8th Aug 07:- Reach Phuket airport via Air Asia about 1.15pm (1 hr behind M'sia time). Take taxi from airport to Patong Province, Baumanburi hotel, take about 1hr+. 420 Baht each taxi for 4 ppls shared. Hotel rate is RM 152+ per twin sharing room per head for 3 nights. It's so cheap right? 8 of us went for FantaSea shows for 1300 Baht per person, including return transportation from hotel, buffet dinner and the shows. It's worth to have a look if you never see it before. Suggest you to go earl...

... a lot of time in there. We also liked the ClubLime restaurant, free wifi and a chatty waitress who thought Paul looked like Kevin Federline - which I found very funny and Paul ... not so much ! One night we went out to Molly Malone's and shared a shepherd's pie that was so huge we couldn't finsh it ! We watched Birgmingham City beat Sunderland in another Irish Bar and wandered down the main strip a couple of times. Patong has a ...

When we arrived back at the pier we were taken to a local restaurant, very modern, for a Thai lunch - delicious. Although it rained both at the beginning of the day and when we got to James Bond Island it certainly didn't stop us really enjoying our day although it was very long and tiring.

Phuket, Thailand j3ster... and that the older, fat man was sporting a speedo. We sat there and rode until our next stop, some other beach. As soon as we got up, the couple moved their stuff onto our seats as to claim them again. This angered me. It's not like we were cramped for room. There was plenty of space for everyone. I starting yelling out some profanities hoping that they didn't know English. They didn't or at least pretended not to. I am sure they were saying the same things about us in ...
Phuket, Thailand deniseosu4... Tomorrow we booked a sea canoe tour with stefan and andra. It;s low season here so we got it for half the price and we get to go to four islands including the bond island where one of the bond movie was filmed. It is apparently awesome. We will hopefully go to the beach the day after that and then we are off to malaysia!!! Hope you are now updated, sorry its been a while and I probably forgot to write lots but oh well! Love to everybody back home!
Phuket, Thailand ericabg... and I take Mum, Dad and Mei-Mei for a walk on the beachfront. We look in the shops and I go into see Mr Nok for DVDs. It's another adventure as we are lead down the back of the store, through doorways, past boxes and through a locked door and into an a/c room, walls lined with DVDs. Dad is behind me muttering "What type of place is this, why are you coming here...?" blah, blah...I buy 12 more DVDs. Mei-Mei thinks it's great fun. Then back to the Hotel to bed.
Patong, Thailand tric1003... to have a bit of time to post some stories from the last couple weeks. I've really enjoyed asia so far and want to share it with you all. Thanks to everyone who sent me well wishes and hello text messages recently. I really enjoy hearing from people back home. Okay, its almost 1am here and I'm going to get some sleep. I have a busy day planned for tomorrow!
Phuket, Phuket, Thailand jeffrey.peo... mean, for the love of god, who would build a city on the side of those hills? Did they do this on purpose or did the city grow in ways that weren't expected? Either way, the entire area is a labyrinth of streets that you will be lucky to escape with your sanity. If the city designers weren't already dead, I would vote them first against the wall when the revolution comes. It took a massive amount of circling, zigzagging and short bouts ...
