We head off in no particular direction. We find the second Christmas market at Simon Stevin plein – also closing for the night. Then a little alleyway and a pub sign catches my eye…

After our bellies were full of beer and stew, we walked around the streets and did a little bit of shopping. The girls bought some belgium chocolates and I got a t-shirt. Yes, well, as i've stated in my Bruges' entry, Oostende was rather an anti-climax.... here i was, thinking i'd head to a 'lovely' Belgian beach.... only to arrive and find that it's basically a construction site, as they are trying to revamp the whole beach front... if you could call it that - more like a Belgian take on Blackpool or the Gold Coast! The buildings looked as though they'd been constructed in the 70´s... brown, ugly tall things imposing on those who walk beneath.... just ...
