Geometry taught me that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Eurail tickets don't follow that rule... We had to catch five different trains to get from Amsterdam to Bruges this morning! Arrived about 1:30 pm, dumped our luggage at our near-by hotel and walked to town. ... by the river we were back at our hostel.. caught the bus to the train station and then waited for 45 minutes to enter a ice sculpture spectacle based on Disney characters which was like bloody amazing but -6 degrees (reminded me a lot of Mongolia...)

Then we caught the train home- got kicked out of first class... got on the plane and had a whole row to myself... and then we were back in London... and our amazing Christmas exertion to Bruges had come to an end.

intermittent showers and shortly after passing the flea market, it was time for
one of the showers. Right before the shower hit we were fortunate enough
to have found the Church of Our Lady which houses the Madonna and Child
sculpture by Michelangelo. This is one of the few pieces done by
