... and bought our train tickets home. Mine was round trip but I had to get a ticket for Lincoln. Without the fine attached, it was only 5 Euros. I really wish I had known ahead of time!<br><br>I had a really nice day visiting with my brother. I haven't seen him since I left Canada back in October, so it was almost a full year. Wow, time flies! He headed back to Paris and will continue on to Barcelona in a few days so I am a bit jealous - I absolutely love Barcelona!
Strasbourg, Alsace, France travelingdivaFeatured Excursion: Strasbourg canal cruise<br>Optional Tour: Haute Königsburg<br><br>"See Strasbourg the way it has been seen through the centuries—on a canal cruise. In addition to viewing the town's covered bridges, medieval watchtowers and modern building that houses the European Parliament, you will see "Petite France," a picturesque district that seems as if it has been lifted from the pages of a fairy tale"<br><br>(To be continued)<br>
Strasbourg, Alsace, France jdeinken... got a salad. Bad idea. <br><br>After dinner, we casually strolled through town back to the hotel where we finally got an internet signal. We tried to do some blogging and catch up on life over the pond back home. Once again, during my traditional nighttime shower after completely flooding the bathroom, I went to bed for a very early train to Munich! Oktoberfest, here we come!<br><br>Sidebar about euro showers: why can’t Europeans put up shower ...
Strasbourg, Alsace, France leandroopThis place was incredible! There was just too much that I loved to talk about, but one thing that was really cool was a hotel that they have called "The Little Prince"...after the book and movie The Little Prince. My parents and I LOVED this book when I was little and we used to read it and watch the movie quite a bit. It's a pretty strange story but really neat. One the side of ...

Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany sarahandstutour... France and walked a winding path to the Cathedral. Unfortunately it was closed for some reason so we only got to admire the exterior. We stopped for lunch at a delicious Alsatian restaurant, Au Dauphin. Here we experience the delicious local specialty, tarte flambée. It is similar in appearance to a pizza. The crust is lighter and thinner, and there is no tomato sauce or cheese, but instead a delicious cream. For toppings, the ...
Strasbourg, Alsace, France travelingdivaWe caught the wrong train and wound up in Gengenbach. While we were waiting for a train back we met a lady who told us the town had a beautiful old-town section. So we went discovering again. After a good look around we stopped at a pub while we were waiting for the next train and got talking to the owner. Turns out he'd been to Australia on holiday, so we had a good time talking to him until it was time to go.
Gengenbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany danandroz... Though my skin was clean, I felt quite ickey after this experience :( I went through a few more saunas, and then to the pools - like the saunas, there were several different temperatures and recommended soaking times. I thought floating in the first pool, under a tiled dome was very cool - until ... the next dome! Wow! The second dome was very ornate, and beautifully decorated - it felt like I was floating inside a cathedral, and was a ...
Baden-Baden, Germany pwong... 200 Euros plus gas. So we made the 750 km trip to Michal's house. Most of it was great, as German and Austrian Autobahns are in great shape. The scenery was very nice with cool hills and small mountains, not quite huge alps. We arrived quite tired after an emotional and long day, but we were very happy to see our friend after 10 months from when we last said good bye in Tahiti.
