Hey guys! Here's a quick recap of my Melbourne weekend! I went over to Sonia's place on Friday night and we drank some wine and went to bed relatively early given that our flight was at 6am on Sat morning. Her husband Cade was kind enough to give us a lift to the airport which saved us about $30 so that was good! Then again, I don't really think she left him much of a choice! ;) The flight was very smooth, no issues whatsoever. We got to Melbourne around 8:30am and made our way to our hotel: ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia isaetjefVictoria is a really pretty state to visit. My cousins grew up in Ballarat so I spent lots of time over there when I was younger. If you ever visit Sovereign Hill there make sure you visit the bakery, best curry pies in the world!! Melbourne is the shopping capital of Australia I reckon. I think Chapel St is a pretty dangerous place for us girls to visit. I haven't been there for a few years now, last time I headed up for a mates 21st. It's a great place to spend a night on the town. If your ...
Melbourne, Australia jazzyI arrived in Melbourne early in the morning. The temperature was about 2 degree celcius, meaning its freezing cold which required me to put on my jacket straight away or I'll freeze to death soon.A shuttle was waiting to take us to the hotel outside the airport. The driver didn't speak much but he sure was helpful in carrying the luggage! ^_^ Due to the jetlag, my parents decided not to go anywhere that morning.Instead we got some sleep in order to be fresh for the next day's tour. When my paren...

We arrived on Friday and it has rained most of the time !! We went to a vineyard yesterday and worked our way through some samples. We are eating and drinking a lot during our travels. Ended up watching the Aussie football match which is very different to English football. Will be going into Melbourne tomorrow but in the meantime thought Id show you photos of my cousins house. Pretty amazing!!

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia reversemergerDay 33 Tuesday 3rd Feb - Melbourne Landed in Melbourne at about 7am feeling absolutely bog eyed as I hadn't really slept a wink by the time I had watched the films and ate the meals. We had expected the customs and immigration bit to be a really long process and I had prepared Phil for the worst. We had been making sure we had eaten as many food items as we could before we got to Oz so that we didn't have an quarantine issues etc ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia oldhamguy... the beach in the sand dunes with about 500 other people and waited for the penguins too appear out of the sea. Every day the penguins head out fishing and then return to the mainland to feed the young . After sitting for about half an hour the penguins started appearing hundreds of em lining up waiting for the cover of darkness to hide them from predators . All of a sudden one made a dash for the dunes and all the rest ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia jamesandruth... an overnight train to Melbourne and landed here early yesterday morning. Our accommodation is ideal - bang in the centre of Melbourne. We took the tourist tram round the city. Visited the museum of Immigration which was very interesting and then we went back to apartment and I did two machine loads of washing and ironing while Jim slept - just to remind me that all the good times will be coming to an end soon. Later on we went out to ...
Melbourne, Australia ladybank... from the 15 other teams. We were also treated to famous Aussie musician Mike Brady singing "One Day in September" live. The song is all about winning the grand final as it takes place in december. Here's a youtube link to the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6KpyGtS YWg I think the guy is a bit of an Aussie legend as well. Also, Kevin Sheedy spoke to us all. He would be the ...
