    ... in the spring.

The rest of the drive down to Eger ended up being fairly winding and Sam and I were both wishing we had stopped to walk around a bit. Once again Google saved us - Eger was a pretty big town, and I doubt we would have navigated the city streets up to the hillside with the castle without help (or at least without a lot less harmony in the car, since we had enough trouble even with Google). In any case, we made it with almost ...

Our next stop was Eger, a lovely little village about 2 hours out of Budapest. We spent the day wandering the beautiful little streets and enjoying the tranquility and small town atmosphere. Walking in it was like we were being welcomed into their own private restaurant, with a big long table set for us... and bottomless wine glasses thanks to Gyuszi. On the third evening my dad had arranged a 7 course dinner at another cellar type place, called Thummerer Pince (see thummerer.hu/en) but this one was an actual restaurant that you could ...

Where to start? How about at the end. We survived! There were moments during our trip to Eger when both Geoff and I thought that our last moments were upon us. Let me try and explain... This was our first meeting with our hosts, Eva and Janos, who are very kind people. Janos was driving. Janos likes to drive. Janos likes to drive fast. Janos likes to talk while he drives (it was during this trip that Geoff learned that getting loud, and sounding angry while doing ...
