Hemera is great, does anyone know speedy?

hello people, i stayed at the hemera from 04-17th October. it was great, the beach is 10secs away and its lovely.

the hotel is surrounded by flowers, palm trees and gardeners are still trying to make it look even more beautiful.

there are alot of germans there but there are english people too!

there is some great entertainment starting from 9.30pm which is performede by the animation team, which is great. the animation team consists of fun people, especcially speedy, who is great.

the beach bar closes at 1am but that doesn't matter because across the road there is plenty of bars, shops and one british bar which is literally across the road, the golden fizz bar.

There are four bars and restaurants. the restaurants are open from 8.00-11.00 then burgers are served from 12.30-5.00 then cakes and ice creamfrom 5.00-6.00 then main dinner from 7.00-9.00

Activities throughout the day consist of water polo, archery, darts etc. this is all done by the animation team.

now the holiday is over, my tan has gone and i wish i was there know.

Great place to stay

stayed last week for a week with wife & kids ( 9 & 6 years old) don't see the point of listing all the +ves ( and they are many) as previous reviews go into great detail. Key points were very helpful & friendly staff / locals, as much as you can eat, varied menu, as much as you can drink if you should so wish, excellant facilities( pools , turkish bath, gym, shows / animations, entertaining performers.

-ves: ( and I am being critical here) were that the 2 bedroom apartment that we stayed in , was next to main road and the local bars and shops on the opposite side of the road so there was some sleep disruption as the bars stay open late. However there was much more disruption from the noisy , argumentative Brits who would abuse the free bar and get kegged up into the early hours. V embarrassing to be associated wiht these people. If you want to avoid all of the traffic noise then stay in the hotel bedrooms ( as opposed to appartments) which are much closer to the beach and away from the road.

The temp last week was 27 / 29 degrees all week apart from the last day when the clouds came for part of the day so it was ideal.

I was pleasantly suprised having not been on holiday to Turkey for 10 years or so, I was expecting the local to have become more street savy and less warm & open to tourists over the years. I was wrong, they still make every effort to deliver a warm welcome at all times.

I guess the best testiment is that I personnally would go back again ( and I am usually v difficult to please). When we asked our kids whether they prefered the Summer holiday earlier this year in August in a private Sapnish villa with its own pool or this holiday they both were clear: Side won hands down.

You will have a great time

We stayed at the Hemera in October 2004 and had a great time. The staff at the hotel made it for us, everyone is so friendly and cannot do enough for you. The hotel is all that you expect from an all-inclusive and more. You can relax by the pool, beach or around the landscape garden setting. The food is very good and there is a considerable choice, although I did miss my full English breakfast. What I also liked was that you were served the main courses by the chefs, which helps to prevent the food being contaminated by others. The downside to being served was when there was a dish that you particularly liked and wanted more you were at times greeted with a 'what more' look from the chef! Mind you, you can go up and get more if you needed too.

The hotel has got everything around it you need. The shops are just outside the complex; there are bars too just across the road. The evening entertainment/disco stops at 11pm and the beach bar continues to serve drinks until 1pm and that's it. Although as I said, if you want to go on drinking and partying you only need to walk outside the hotel.

Mostly Germans visit side, so you will find the hotel has its fair share. But hey, we are all one in mind and body and we are all there to have a good time, so why differentiate!

If I could make any improvements to the hotel it would be to have food (burgers, chips and so on) available right until 1am/2am. Once restaurant closed at 9.30pm the only food available was dry ham/cheese rolls which they placed in a fridge at the reception at 11pm. At the bar they were very generous with the drinks and the bar staff were so quick in serving you.

There were no lifts and we were situated on the 4th floor and we had a pram to negotiate up the stairs on a daily basis. Saying that I was glad for the daily exercise after consuming more calories that necessary!! By the way, the Gym is excellent and the Turkish bath, well what can I say!!

The rooms are clean and comfortable and are service every day. The entertainment team are all great fun.

Rather than going on anymore I can conclude in saying that I'm missing this hotel and would like to be there right now. At the very least I will be back within the next couple of years. You will not regret going there. There was a large group of us so we had fun and got involved in the activities on offer where we could.

I have been to Hemera 5 times now! Excellent Every time!

I have been to Hemera 5 times now, and I would have to say that it is one of the best places I have ever been.

The staff & management are all very friendly & helpful. A few years ago on my second trip I have a really bad problem with my leg, and I could barely walk, me and my family were in an appartment. The manager of the Hotel gave us an upgraded family room just near the restuarant free of charge & did everything he could to help us out.

Loads of things to do - Lovely Animators!

Every time I have been I had a wonderful time, the food is lovely, and with the different restuarants there is normally plenty of choice. (Food is pretty much available all day everyday)

The rooms, beach and location is superb! It is a lovely walk into Side Town. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The only thing I would say is, if travelling with a travel agent and you decide to do the turkish night out at the castle - eat before you leave - I have been twice and the food is cold & horrible.!!! Entertianment great though. (Ps - This is nothing to do with the hotel though)

Sounds like its still great at the Hemera

We stayed at the Hemera two years ago and it was brilliant for everyone in everyway sounds like it is still a great place to holiday - hope to go back one day

Beautiful Hemera

The Hemera is the best HOTEL all rounder that we have ever stayed in . People ,staff , food , rooms ,service is all top class . The mini bar stocked every day .Beach to die for the trouble is it spoils you, for one tends to compare every other hotel to it, and they dont come up to its standards.

The management are to be commended.

Hemera was really great! I wanna go back next year!!!! I don't know why Hemera has 4 stars and not 5. The Pool is good, the food is good, the people who work there are good. The animation team is really good, they are very nice and they are work hard but they are not the only one there who work hard. Greets to Ibo, Halil, Speedy Gonzales, Serkan and Tahir.

Tried and Tested many times!!!!

Never in a million years would I think I would go back to a place, "once" let alone 6 times!!!

Belive me I,am trying not too, but each time the HEMERA HOTEL comes tops for us each time. The staff, acomadation, grounds, food, everything about it is great. trouble is we keep recomending

our freinds about it as well by showing them,videos,

photos,and non stop talking about it.so of cause thy want to try it, SO THIS YEAR "21" OF US ARE GOING. which 6 of us have been many times.

EVERYONE inclueding the other holidaymakers are freindly,

SO PLEASE DONT GO THERE AND TAKE OUR SPACES UP (I shall be anouyed if its fully booked)

A really great hotel, with great and hard working staff. Nice rooms, great eating and really thought through evening entertainment - strongly recommended!
