A reasonably smooth if very windy road through steep green hills, the Parana pine (Araucaria) giving way to more Alpine pines for a while before we descended back into jungle. The walls of green were punctuated by lots of river, waterfalls and the omnipresent trees with both white and purple flowers – there are always more of the latter and here the blossom and colour was even more intense than previously.
6.5 hours later, I arrive in Santos, only ½ hour late ...
... firework shop and set us up with some awesome fireworks and some great kites. They showed us around their city and treated us to some amazing pasteles (deep fried pastries filled with cheese ans ground beef) and Adrianos family hosted an amazing BBQ with delicious meat, BBQ cheese, pineapple and so much more. We really enjoyed getting out of the city and seeing their town.
... was at this point that I realised I had left my bedroom window open... I am not joking when I arrived back, there was a puddle on the floor and the water had soaked through my blanket, my pillow, my sheets and even all the way through my mattress.
Guess I’m sleeping on the sofa tonight...
