      ... washed out by recent landslides due to heavy rain, so there was a major detour inland and steeply uphill to a crossroads from where we could turn back to the coast and approach Sao S from the other direction – 2 hours & a change of bus later I arrived!       ... was at this point that I realised I had left my bedroom window open... I am not joking when I arrived back, there was a puddle on the floor and the water had soaked through my blanket, my pillow, my sheets and even all the way through my mattress.
