Even so, the delays before and after, meant I didn’t get to Valera to gone 5. Got straight on a bus to Trujillo but it was nearly 6 and dark by the time I arrived, something I always try to avoid. And, I still had to get a taxi from the terminal to a hotel.

... worth the bother! It was packed – hate to be there on a Sunday! Lots of small pleasure craft too, vying for who had the loudest sound system – they were royally trumped when a Sunseeker arrived!
The water and the various beaches were packed, a significant portion of these being the salespeople, from the water selling seafood and cocktails, and on land, that plus sweets, ice cream, jewellery, drinks, food, honey, preserves, coffee, cigarettes, ...
... soon enough we were in a taxi with 2 other passengers on our way to the port. At the port we met some nice German guys on their way to Venezuela too. They had been couch surfing around the Caribbean and intended to continue in South America - that takes guts! The boat was much busier than on the way to Tobago, primarily because there was a church group of about 25 Trinidadians on their way to an event in Caracas. ... trip was in Bariquisimeto helping build walls, deliver sports equipement and even Barbie dolls! The worst part of the trip so far was the LONG drive to the town. It was close to a nine hour drive and allowed the mission group time to do some real bonding.

got my money back from the room that i had already paid (for the 2nd night) and left.
