    ... und brauchte Abwechslung. So musste mein Fahrer José sein halbes Taxi auseinander nehmen und ich mein komplettes Gepäck auspacken. Nach knapp eineinhalb Stunden konnten wir weiter fahren. Ich schlief ein wenig als mich José weckte da wir bei einem Imbiss am Strassenrand anhielten. José hatte Hunger und genehmigte sich ein Frühstück.     ... sense of luxury" did not pervade Posada El Trebol, with it’s poky subterranean windowless rooms for 150, or it’s larger 300 bolivares rooms, whose uncurtained window looked out on a corridor and the room opposite!! Nor do they have cerveza delivered to the rooms – should have guessed that one was a lie!!

    Further down the same street was Mirasol, which had windows, fridges and hot water, a definite step in the right direction.

    Still no beer, mind, and ...

    We departed Tobago without a hitch and arrived in Trinidad in the evening. Unfortunately our first taxi trip was not to our hostel but to the airport to get our hands on some US dollars, as they are simply impossible to get in Venezuela (you have to then sell them for bolivares in Venezuela). Our taxi driver was official (so expensive) but we had no choice. En route to the airport he picked his daughter up from an evening class. She was not so chuffed to have to go to the airport ...

    ... trip was in Bariquisimeto helping build walls, deliver sports equipement and even Barbie dolls! The worst part of the trip so far was the LONG drive to the town. It was close to a nine hour drive and allowed the mission group time to do some real bonding.

    well, what i saw made my decision easy, not to wait to see more rituals and to head to the beach.
    got my money back from the room that i had already paid (for the 2nd night) and left.
    freedom is a wonderful thing.....
