We spent the night in a place called la puerta which is the gateway to the Andes and the scenery was spectacular and a beautiful climate as well. It was just what I needed after the city. We had a nice BBQ and headed back for another game of pothole guitar hero before our flight back to Caracas and then onto the Gran Savanna.

Housing hundreds of thousands of people, the favellas are accommodation for many poorer communities. I am told that there are many cases of crime committed by those in the favellas, who travel into Caracas and then return to the favella networks where it is harder for them to be traced. ...

... trip was in Bariquisimeto helping build walls, deliver sports equipement and even Barbie dolls! The worst part of the trip so far was the LONG drive to the town. It was close to a nine hour drive and allowed the mission group time to do some real bonding.

got my money back from the room that i had already paid (for the 2nd night) and left.
