Well, I typed this WHOLE entry and then went to save and...POOF! Everything's gone!!! That's gotta be the most annoying thing ever!!!!!!!!!!#!@#!$%#^$%&^$%$ To sum it all up, we went rafting today on the Telaga Waja River and it was lots of fun. It has class II and III rapids (for those of you that know what it means). We went over some crazy drops; 3m and 4m (~9ft and 12ft, respectively for the metrically-challenged). They were really, really fun and the whole trip today was great. Again...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia chaos242Once again, I'm behind in updating the blog- but when you're enjoying a city it's hard to always take time out to sit in an internet cafe for a few hours to upload all the photos, but as we are heading off to Thailand tomorrow and we've been here for 3 weeks, an update is overdue! When we first arrived in Bali, the first thing that I noticed that the airport, had wooden carvings throughout the structure and had incense burning- definitely not the sterile concrete environment I'm used to an ai...

... hours.

During this time we had our first meal at Eddie's place. To be honest, I have no idea what the real name of the restaurant is, but the guy that runs it is named Eddie, and we loved him. He was very friendly and remembered our names. Eddies Place was on Poppies 1, right near our hotel, so we passed him at least five times a day. Each time, he would wave and say "Hello Whitney! Hello Nicole!" We ate at Eddie's Place four times during our stay in Bali & the last day ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia seasiabound... truckloads (literally) in the main streets of Kuta and along the beach every day and night - which makes you feel a little bit safer.

We topped the day off with dinner at Poko Loco - mexican restaurant over here that has its own midget! I spent the whole night laughing - we kept getting confused if he was a boy or girl and he kept doing tricks and it was just very very funny!

Tomorrow heading off to some of the other beaches - even if the weather is ******
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia kazjohn... Go with the flow, get drunk, meet up at the meeting steps and enjoy the wonder that is Bintang! And buy the vest top to fit in…..
Avoid….
1. Bali dogs, Scooters, blind right hand bends in alleyways, gutters at night.
2. Be wary of the children trying to sell you bracelets, they will rob you blind before you can even ask “where’s your parents?”
3. Women on bikes who offer you transport…. transport means something totally different!
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia shelleyandsimmoPeeps how are you??!! Sorry its been well over a month but its actually been quite hard to get to the internet here considering how touristic it's supposed to be. That, and we got into the Indonesian lifestyle and quite frankly got lazy :-) but we are back and what a month its been!!! Where the month in China seemed endless this month has just flown by. Bali Well we first arrived to Bali with the terrible hangover of St. Patrick's day and unfortunately had to roam the busy ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia philandkatrina... amp; was now getting overgrown by the jungle. Nearby on the hillside is the Bali Botanic Garden which was a lovely place to spend an afternoon but slightly surreal as the local tourists obviously thought it was a safari park & stayed in their cars & drove around peering out of their car windows rather than walking & experiencing the trees & plants as we did! some of them did manage to leave the sanctuary of their cars for a ...
Lake Bratan, Louisiana, Indonesia cjgr... difference between the two places and nothing to do with Helena's poor map reading or my frustrated decision to 'follow where all the other cars are going because at least that's not dark, empty or ****ing one-way after seven o'clock!' on three separate occasions. Got home very pleased with myself at the first major jaunt out from base camp! Yay! me and the motor industry, but not so much them as me, you know because of all the pollution of the planet stuff. Speak to you soon! Ixxx
Umalas, Indonesia ifanabroad... we got ourselves rubbed down. Rubbed, pounded, stretched, slapped, pummeled and prodded. Isn't massage supposed to be relaxing? Feeling more like we had been beaten up, we went to the beach, where we spent the rest of the day. We swam in the sea, despite the strong waves - there's a reason that Kuta is so popular with surfers. Kirsty realised that she had lost one of her nice new earrings - presumably swept away by the ocean. Bugger. After a fairly ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia jacobandkirsty... an example of the balinese kindness - as i hobble down the road, i'm asked about every 20 feet by locals on the sidewalk what happened to my foot, if i'm ok, do i need help and advised to go to get "good balinese massage" to heal it. i think its a very rare thing these days to find people who care so much about the well-being of strangers. its a very nice atmosphere to live in. loving ubud so much, i've decided to stay here for a few ...
