There's something to be said about the unexpected. Off Exit 27 on Highway 5, headed to one of my favorite haunts, Blue Ridge; I detoured temporarily and found myself in Ball Ground. Truth is, I’d been there before, as I sampled cuisine from Les Bon Temps Louisiana Kitchen, which is located alongside an authentic German deli. The weather for the day made for perfect running weather – ...

Stayed in a rundown Inn on the highway and slept poorly...serves me right for not searching out a nicer spot.
Freeway driving has it's benefits to getting somewhere quickly but sure is boring unless you stop...and we didn't do much of that today! No snow and temperatures climbing. We had three half hour delays due to accidents. Sadly, in one a mother was pulling a trailer with 7 children in it and two wee ...

    2nd Day on the Road

A travel blog entry by pjrinal on Jul 09, 2013

Today's goal was to make it out of Florida and well into Georgia. We got an early star (7:30) and Regina outdid all plans, pushing on past Atlanta and making it into the Georgia mountains. We stopped for the night in Adairsville Georgia. This is supposed to be a cute town, but we elected to stay put once parked. Took a leisurely stroll around the campground. It was OK, but not a place to spend much time. TODAY - DISTANCE 477 miles IN 8:00 TOTAL - DISTANCE 737 miles IN ...
