... You can see the lake from almost everywhere in the house. When I walked in today I actually felt an "ahhhh" looking out at the water. This is the only place in which I felt an emotional response on entering the house. There is such a feeling of the outside being part of the house BUT the house is older, the HOA fees are much higher and you have to join Plantation in order to have a club house and activities. The way he presented himself and the way he was so absurdly talking to us made me think that he was joking. He looked really shocked that this button was pushed and asked Courtney very sternly why she pressed the button. I was actually laughing at him because I really thought he was joking with us. The end of the long and winding road

... Parkway yesterday morning was gorgeous, but sobering. I'd driven on it Saturday evening in rain, fog and darkness. To see what I'd navigated in terrible conditions, as a novice mountain driver... let's just say that I had some very helpful guardian angels lending a hand. Whoa. My literal kissing of the ground at the Pisgah Inn when I got out of the car was more appropriate than I realize.

Anywhoo.
