Today started off a little later than usual because I really needed to catch up on some sleep. I checked out of my hostel at 11 this morning but thankfully I was able to leave my backpack there until 6 so I could still enjoy the day. ... back through Las Ramblas. We hailed a taxi when we got out on the main road because, shocker - we were lost again. Our taxi driver was the rudest man ever and he was mad I guess that we were only driving a few minutes away. When we gave him his money he threw it aggressively on the floor of the passenger seat. Needless to say, we were very confused, tired, and frustrated at that point and were very ready for our daily siesta.

... we didn't arrive until about 7pm. We took a bus to Placa Catalunya where the main shopping district comes to an end. There were 2 HUGE fountains and they were so pretty! There are fountains galore in Europe and these were even better because they were in a climate of palm trees and it really felt like we were on spring break. The outside was fascinating enough for us. We then walked toward the old city, but it too was much further than on the map. Saw the El Toro monument, what looked like a big bullfighting ring. Also the Arc de Triomf- I thought that was in Paris, but they have one too!
