    ... we didn't know anyone. A lot of people, including our parents, did not want us to go. We stayed in the city of La Romana. Within our 3 month stay, we met many friends like Lexie and Crystal.
    We traveled all over the country. We did not have a car so we took public transportation. Public cars, which is a beat-up 1980 Toyota, Gua-Guas, which is a over-crowed beat up van, and motor bikes. All will cost you less than a dollar to travel. To be safe we did not ...

    ... and I didn't get it all. Just where happy and afraid at the same time, because that meant as well, IF the Judge would give him the correct papers NOW, that he (the Bank) would give Lic. Berroa the check???
    Than Berroa said, that we (Xtreme Buggy) never made a appeal, for the sentence that the Judge did in Higuey. HMMMMM the Judge looked at our Lawyer ( the third one already, as the last one left us, saying he has no more time for us,.......BUMMER)

    ... forward to working closely with him very soon.

    Over the next few weeks, we hope to get the written permission, visit the site of the future garden to take some pictures and plan an outline, and then go to Hato Mayor (next province to the north) to scope out prices and materials. I found out that the places will deliver the items as part of the cost, which is great news. I will be sure to keep you updated as our project progresses. Wish us luck!

    ... imagine, as those of you who know me well know that I LOVE to swim!! I am really happy about the size of it as well, as it is decent for doing laps - and I will be able to keep in swimming shape for triathlon season next summer! If only the roads were good enough to have a bike...sigh. I guess I can't have everything - I will settle for the pool...and the 2 minute walk from the white sand beach! I have included a view of the beach ...

    ... as they receive aid often from various Canadian school groups that come here, from various organizations, etc. Instead, I decided that I wanted to travel to more remote bateyes that are too far away from any towns and that don't receive any aid during the year. However, getting to these bateyes has been a bit of a problem, as we have had to wait for the daily rains to stop so that the very sketchy roads ...
