Its my last day as a volunteer at 180 Grados in Guaymate and we had a farewell get together by going to the river. Unfortunately yudelka wasn't feeling too well, another case of Chikungunya! (Side note: only the dominicans would write a song about Chikungunya in the dembo style - very fast-paced and popular in all the clubs) It was nice and relaxing to swim in the river and we had lunch of fried ham with plantains and a type of potato whose name I can't recall. ... imagine, as those of you who know me well know that I LOVE to swim!! I am really happy about the size of it as well, as it is decent for doing laps - and I will be able to keep in swimming shape for triathlon season next summer! If only the roads were good enough to have a bike...sigh. I guess I can't have everything - I will settle for the pool...and the 2 minute walk from the white sand beach!
