Reception was excellent--friendly and wonderfully accommodating. The room was clean and well-equipped. The pool was amazing. The gardens were beautiful. Requests were handled promptly and politely. Our car was parked securely. We traveled with two small children and felt our needs were more met above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you!

Blow dryer did not work, trouble getting adequate towels for family of 5. Bathroom cleanliness suboptimal. For price, less than expected. Otherwise good location, friendly service.

Clean and nice hotel a little bit secluded but good way to start or end a tour. Nice pool and trails around the hotel. Big rooms and good restaurants for Dinner and Breakfast.

... My basha also looked a little sketchy, with one tripod severely bowed. With the departure of Sweets however and his attached bed only used occasionally (as my comfy day bed), my bed happily managed to last the duration. On our second week, there was a large delivery of gravel which was dumped in a big pile, by the rangers reception area. We soon found out that we'd have the pleasure of lugging this along the various trails, to layer gravel on the existing gravel, to ...

Thursday afternoon I was with David from the logistics team. It was so interesting as I knew nothing about how shipping is organised etc. There are two different kinds of shipping vessels, reefer and container, which are loaded differently. Container ships have stacks of containers below deck and above deck whereas reefer ships have pallets loaded into refrigerated areas below deck and containers above deck. Certain ports can only handle certain types of vessel so the ...

... we explored the national park of Cahuita with our pipas in hand. Pipas are green coconuts. We bought them from a man with a machete who poked straws through the pipa and then afterwards, would cut the coconut open so that we could eat the insides. We managed to see howler and white faced monkeys along the trail. Just off the trail was the beach, but we were surrounded by forest. It was ...
