... to the campsite. Our tent was in a different position than where we left it -- and tied to the computer charger. Evidently it had blown away while we were gone and some neighbors retrieved it and tied it down.

For dinner, Kevin made Mexican rice, tomatoes, mushrooms, and chorizo. Since the car had been so warm while we were at the beach, we each had a melted truffle for dessert.

..."The sun grows weary and the sun goes down".... oh go on and listen to the cd
El Rocío, Andalusia, Spain claesch... ride) and pedaled through the town of Aljaraque. Soon the land began to undulate as I rode into the pine forest beyond the town. I just LOVE the smell of pine forest in the morning! Then all too soon pine forest gave way to orchards of oranges and lemons. I was now moving inland, but 10 km farther on the road swung back towards the coast and the towns of Cartaya and Lepe, between which I had to deal with a worryingly narrow bridge across the Rio Piedras ...
Vila Real de Santo Antonio, Portugal jamie_pete... corner to the recommended Bar Whitney where I ate four large plates of delicious tapas - yumyum! Later I strolled into the city centre to find the tourism office and an internet café and had to smile when I saw a number of firefighters (bomberos) demonstrating about cuts in manning levels - problems the same the world over! After a couple of hours updating the blog I took an evening walk through this sophisticated town ...
Huelva, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands jamie_pete... and their partners. It was good timing actually, as they had completed their visit and so did not interrupt the "flow". The last part of the visit, before the tasting, was a viewing of the warehouse designed by Eiffel, of tower fame. As well as being interesting architecturally, and interesting for its contents, it was, by coincidence, acoustically excellent, as was proved by the massed voices of the German police choir ...

no idea, Portugal -scooterARRIVED from Sevilla i was trying to get to lisbon, portugal but the train line stopped in Huelva. the bus from there to portugal didnt leave for 8 hours (it was a holiday, so everything was closed, i couldnt even find anything to eat except at the bus station and no cars and no map so i wasnt about to hitchhike) not much to do all day other than my usual- skateboard, nap, read, walk around... DEPARTED to somewhere in Portugal
Huelva, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands -scooter... spa, sunscreen, lots of beachtime, walking, reading tons, sunburn, beer, cardgames, host family time. The best part was it was totally undeserved. This is the kind of trip you take after a terrible semester, not after an easy first week of spanish class. I've given in to the guilt I was feeling about not deserving any of this experience, and have decided to enjoy every moment. It's great. Well, that's all I have for now. Keep me posted, everyone! Puente Umbril, Spain mwalsh86We have been very **** on the travel pod so far... and now we find that Travelpod doesn´t seem to think the Canary Islands exist, so we´re going to cheat and start in Cadiz for now. Thanks to all who´ve sent emails, yes we´re still alive! I'm struggling with photos at the moment - after spending an hour waiting for four to upload, and having it crash 75% of the way through, we ...
Cadiz, Spain and Canary Islands marcusnlisa... requiring them to put nets above to catch the falling limestone. Carmen, who has been a tour guide for 14 years said she was giving a tour to architects who were studying the area. The architects wanted to the see the crypt below the cathedral first. The cathedral architect designed the crypt to support the cathedral without a center support. Because of this he had to calculate the exact dimensions each block of stone that supported the cathedral. We then ...
Cadiz, Spain tklinkenWell we had a good run from El Rocio to a little place called Punta Umbria where we ´war´camped. We are learning the camp-site lingo. We parked on the beach and enjoyed several days of lovely sun-shine and Gulf of Cadiz sea. Here is Rocky´s account of Punta Umbria: We left El Rocio today 6th February, we are now in Punta Umbria ...
