I am not really sure to say that we left today or yesterday because it seems like one really long day.

We left JFK Monday after Tresor had time to do some knitting, Alana had some Ramen noodles, and everyone was able to charge their devices. We had a pretty pleasant 6-or-so hours where only a few slept during the flight to Frankfort, Germany. Once we arrived for our 4-hour layover, many did some sleeping, others ...

... what happened when the shop shut? But Luiz led us through the shop, through a door and upstairs to the smart spacious place we would be calling home for four days. We only understood how this worked when the shutter on the shop was down which miraculously turned the shop into a corridor. ... feat when you are 5’ 1 !! All the rain gets me cause the umbrella is held at such great heights J Luckily it was only a 5 minute walk so no damage done. The home itself is beautiful with many carved wooden ceilings (we haven’t seen such amazing wood details to this extent in the castles we have seen on this trip) ...

Up early to get to the airport at Beauvais about 1 hr from Paris. Airport small but efficient. Lost our fig jam as we had not eaten enough for breakfast (100g limit). Quick taxi through Paris at 6.30 in the morning was a nice change. Foggy at airport, but Ryanair planes ready to go. Sun breaking through and boarding soon. Next burst will be from Lisbone. Alan lost a ticket for the bus in the dark - found ... ...

... a weird little part of town filled with old monuments, towers, monasteries and castles. We took a looping walk around all of the sights to check it all out, including taking time to hunt some crabs on the river walls looking out at the bridge and their giant Christ the Redeemer equivalent.

It was interesting but nothing to blow you away and looked almost like it was completely set up for hordes of tourists in the high season. The monastery and the naval history ...
