Getting from Cadiz to Lisbon involved quite a long day of
travel starting with a two hour train ride from Cadiz to Seville, a city bus
ride from the train station to the bus station, a long wait there for my
mid-afternoon bus, and then a ride of over six hours to Lisbon with stops in
three Portuguese cities along the way. As I did in Cadiz, in Lisbon I found a
hostel very near the bus/train station for easy access to the next stage of my

But, when I heard it a second time I glanced in the direction of the voice and who was standing there? None other than Melissa, Greta and Jess, the 3 Bowen chicks that we'd run into ...

Tower of Belem (C) - Another UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983, and I guess I can understand why. Again the architecture is stunning, the detail is fantastic and its location at the mouth of the Tagus makes you appreciate how important it was to the protection of Lisbon.

The reason I gave it such a low grade is that you don't actually need to go inside it! ...

... realistic and some were frightening—like evil clowns. We took lots of artsy pictures here. Once back at the ship, I changed for dinner and went out with a group of 12 people to find a good restaurant. I can’t remember everyone’s names but the ones I knew were Melinda, Lauren, Eric, Emily, Alex, Katie and Jenny. I had vegetable cream soup, lamb chops and crème brulee for dinner. It wasn’t amazing but not bad. The city was ...
