This is a very exciting opportunity to not only specialize, but also to generalize and provide primary care services to the developing children of our nation (while also improving early intervention in mental health disorders). As of right now, this is the plan for me, but I'm sure that that decision will develop and evolve over time in medical school.

As my final weekend here begins to come to an end, I'm looking back on all my time here, and I can honestly say that though it's been a struggle, and though I've had more trouble than I thought I would, I will always remember this trip as being the best opportunity I could take advantage of this summer. It's been such a blast, and I look forward to my final week ahead in Gynecology. Hopefully my sun burns don't peel too much and I can come home with a nice tan!
... As I said, the sun was out and the sky was super blue, so the water was this pleasant blue/turquoise color, and the waves were so big some of them went over my head. There were these giant rocks to walk and climb on off to the side of the beach, and we found all kinds of crabs and little sea animals hanging out on them in the sun. Her face contorted, she made a little noise, and Paco asked her if she was okay. After a quick pause, and a glance at me and the other residents in the room, she said very proudly and in an offended tone, "I'm Scottish!" I laughed for five minutes straight, and my day was made.
