... the strait that separates Italy from Sicily, the Strait of Messina and that was very picturesque. Lots to see on both sides through the binoculars. Had an Asian style buffet lunch, coffee and dessert downstairs, a nana nap and more swimming. The girls, Lance and Michelle went for a workout at the gym. We had a formal night for dinner and then off to the theatre to see Sir Elton John aka Neil Lockwood. Great end to a lovely cruisy ...

... we are in a different place from the rest of the day and well past Crotone. Checking the map no place to go for 100 miles but small port called La Castella so in we head. A very wet ride with reefed sails but we head in and just manage to get through harbour entrance with zero on the depth gauge despite there supposed to be 3 meters of water. All good the salty sea dogs settle in for the night and check the weather forecast - ...

If I thought yesterday was a lazy day..... Well, today was even lazier for me. Jacques and Marina were readying Millie for an 18-hour run to Taormina tomorrow. Four loads if washing were being dried very quickly in the winds that were whistling thru Crotone. Me, I had caught up in all my laundry, so I just read or should I say finished my book, in a heap of tears. Now I am having withdrawals and sadness, missing my characters, having been attached to them for ...

Sept. 2: Crotone new marina (weather delay)

... We are definitely snuggled in for the day and night, with plenty of power and water. Lunch on deck seemed extra special being cradled in, while the weather was playing sporadic havoc along the coast South of us. Milena became a "must see" for all the sailers in the area. Walking back and forth, from bow to stern, "oooooooing and ahhhhhhing" was a little disturbing as we are trying to eat lunch..... Oh well. Millie always becomes the talk of any harbor she is in. The latter ...
