... people bought what could be described as small air balloons to be lit on fire and they float up into the air. They are for good luck in the new year. We ended up sitting on the sidewalk near the beach and watching everyone running around getting soaked. As it got dark the water throwing decreased and we were able to walk back to the room relatively dry. 04/14/09 Today we didn't do much, another eat and sleep day. Laid around the hotel and watched tv and chilled.

We had two rain showers which consists of it spitting for 2 minutes while the Thai's run about screaming and diving for shelter while we look to the sky and smile - it last less than a minute and even then the sun does not stop shining, but watching the panic is quite amusing.

Wow! Time has sure flown by! It tends to happen more the longer we stay in a particular spot. I guess that's why they say in order to live a fulfilling life, do something different every day. Not that we haven't, but living in this one house for the past 30 days has gotten us back in a sort-of "routine". Today started the Patong Carnival (it will last till 03.Nov) and I had the luck to see the pageant. The whole pageant lasted for something around 20minutes - but the most thing that made me confuse was the fact that the traffic was NOT stopped / blocked but was running at the same time... in Germany _IMPOSSIBLE_! Now I need some beer... ;-)
