We paid 1000RMB each for a private tour to Kaiping with a driver and guide. This was a lot of money, but well worth the money. ... with a little park by the river. We had lunch in a the delightful "Orient Express" French Restaurant where the staff were lovely and helpful. Two old carriages have been made into dining cars. Weather permitting we plan to return for an evening meal during our stay.

Lastly, in what already was a busy morning, we went out and headed to another building where there a dumpling cooking seminar was set up. Similar to the Chinese knots, this activity too was hands on. In this case, many old grandmas horded the cooking area making their classical dumplings as I peered in for a closer look.
