    When my alarm went off at 6:45 in Langkawi, definitely not for the first time and I'm pretty sure not for the last, I had no idea where I was. Sheets of rain (and we now know exactly where that expression comes from) were driving their way onto the tin roof of our bungalow. At 9am we were planning on catching a boat to Satun.     The day started at 6am and stickman assumed his position on the throne so I got dressed.

    Breakfast was OK but not stunning...what was stunning was the view of the bay outside the hotel. A perfect back drop for the start. The first 15km was really nice coming out of Prachuap and zig zagging back and forth across the main rail line heading south.     ... bank this is where I would be staying for sure. But I'm not, I have to work and go through the hideous tasks of sorting out work permits and visas (and paying for them out of my own pocket) I also have to sort Matthews schooling out and his happiness is just as important as mine.
