... the night markets and bought some new bathers which I'll test out tomorrow. We got majorly lost and probably walked an extra 5kms than we needed to. Lesson learnt to take a map with us next time. It's time for bed as we have a big day tomorrow. Adelle is off at 6:00am to the Similian Islands and I'm off at 7:30am to Phi Phi Island, can't ...

      A day with the snakes

... We got a Tuk Tuk to the snake farm, which cost us 300 baht return, so 3 pounds each for there and back, which isn't bad at all, because it was a fair distance and we were stuck in quite a bit of traffic. Again there was a great convivial atmosphere. I very much enjoyed ...

... respectfully told them thanks but no thanks and we were released back into the wild streets with some ****** week's holiday at one of their ****** resorts which I'm sure if you took up you would be trapped in a week long sales pitch with no escape. Off we trek back to the hotel. It is long past lunch time and Stu cannot believe he has fallen for something so idiotic. I feel the same way but am choosing to look back on it with a bit of a wry smile instead. It certainly was an ...

Impressions at the Beach and on the Streets

Impressions at the Beach and on the Streets

Thought we booked a vacation in Thailand but at the beach, in hotels, and on the street you are hearing mostly Russian language. Menus and signs are in Russian letters. Locals tell you that they are not happy about the "Russian invasion."

Vendors at the beach are trying to sell you

      • Sun glasses, even if you own already one or two.
      • Clothes, sarees, head scars, swim suits
