... Besides, I've discovered that, for a mere $18, I can spend two hours in the "Miracle Lounge", which includes big comfy chairs, coffee/tea/juice, sandwiches, cakes (falls under the category of "free food" above - I will eat my body weight in white bread, processed cheese sandwiches!) and free wifi. Life is definitely looking up! I will check in again from Tokyo, where I have a 12-hour wait between flights. ...

... relaxed and jovial traditional Burmese dinner served family style. Tempora vegetables and soup was followed by a chicken curry (mild and rather sweet), a fish curry, rice and vegetable stir fry. Fresh fruit was the dessert. Wine and beer from Myanmar were served to those who wanted to try. I had a Myranmar beer and it was lovely, especially on such a warm evening. The wine seemed to be palatable as well. We ened up in the lobby bar afterward to chat and sing thus ended our first day touring ...

... peaceful, but after all that excitement there was no way I was going to be able to sleep. We arrived in Bangkok around 7am, I retrieved my baggage and cleared customs and immigration, then changed the 20 Euro I'd been saving into Thai baht. The money changer's rates aren't amazing - but they're not terrible and it turns out that they charge no fees, so my 20 Euro became about 18.5 Euro worth of baht, not bad. If I'd used an ATM in the airport, I would have been charged 250 baht by ...
