Beetween all these things, the atmosphere there is wonderful! Not far
from the hostel there's a colony of flying foxes, the biggest bats in
the world (they can weight up to 1 kg!). Everyday, at about 8 in the evening,
they fly all toghether to go and eat fruit. It's a great show! Next day
we are going to the rainforest, in Dorrigo National Park, with the guy
from ...
... success. I was just splasing about in the shallows
when I felt something brush against my leg...and a stinging sensation! It felt a
bit like a nettle sting, there were no lifeguards or vinegar on the beach
(apparently that's what you're meant to pour onm!) and as I didn't want James to
wee on my leg we were at a bit of a loss what to do! We walked to the yacht club
restaurant, by which time my leg had swelled up ...
... bunch of dolphins, a turtle ("catching the EAC" for the Nemo fans) and a hammerhead shark (spotted by Reid as it cruised within a few meters of the boat). Big excitement all around.
And, there is more excitement to report in the Bouck/Irwin household--yes, we will soon be welcoming a new member to our family. No, NOT a human (had some Brangelina thoughts while in the poorer countries of SE Asia but not brave enough to carry through on them). Seems ...
We decided to have a lie in this morning and so started out at about 7.45 am from Taree! We managed to get to Mylestom at about 12.15pm after a couple of eventful tries at stopping to get a coffee! We couldn't find places to park the truck and the rig so Steve had to do some nifty driving to get out of some tricky situations! He did it brilliantly. We by-passed ...
Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia steveandsally... point that I said, "I hate Australia". Reality: In rechecking the website, it clearly stated that the unlimited kilometres were only in the "designated area"...I had taken that to mean we couldn't go off-roading and kangaroo hunting in the Outback. I suppose I should have read the definition of "designated area". Anyway, the manager was willing to work with us, and after a check with the head office (in New Zealand of all places) and a few dollars ...

coffs harbour, New South Wales, Australia ronia... drunk but the night ended very suddenly when one of the Aussie guys we were talking to slapped Jess accross the face and we just left and went to bed. The next day we set off for the Famous Big Banana, the walk there took about 1 1/2 hours but it was sooo worth it as we saw the world's biggest banana, even though it wasnt real! As well as one of the best bananas ive ever had there was also an ice rink. We got on the ice, me ...
Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia reggie188... here every summer. Although it is an island by name, Muttonbird is joined to the mainland by a narrow breakwater and is easily accessible on foot. It is worth the effort to clamber up the incredibly steep footpath to the top of the island for the wonderful view of Coffs Harbour, beaches and the other small islands in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Looking out over the town at sunset is particularly beautiful and the park rangers run guided walks at this time ...
Also weiter, ab in den naechsten Park... In Byron Bay wird diesmal nur kurz gehalten. Es ist schon Abends um 10, aber Nine will ...
Coffs Harbour, Australia jennababe... the TOmTOM makes it so easy navigating. Got here safe and sound, went to check the town out. We walked along the seafront, the seawall is made up from lots of big rocks, which people have painted and used them as either family markers or memory of holidays, and just general things - have a look at the picture. We sat overlooking the town beach watching the surfers ...
