No volies neu ? Dues tasses

Hola a tots,

We went karaoke-ing with Charla Mae

We drove all the way to Banff early in the morning. As soon as we got there, I called Charlamae, and we set up a time to meet for karaoke the next day. Doing this job, it's really cool to know people all over the world. It gives you an interesting perspective when you can sit down with someone like old friends and just chat about the general goings-ons in their hometowns. We met up at Wild Bill's for some karaoke. Keith had planned to go to Banff just so we could show up for karaoke night. Th...

We went hiking/sliding AROUND Tunnel Mountain

From here on in, our trip consisted mainly of hiking, hiking and more hiking. I love hiking. We decided to take a not so steep (but long) trek around Tunnel Mountain and ending up at the world famous hoodoos. I decided not to rent the cleats the lady at the visitor centre recommended because I decided she was "too old" to understand. Turns out she was kind of right. Keith described me as "Bambi on ice" slipping and sliding down the hills. Going up icy BC hills is pretty, it's the going down p...

More hiking at Lake Louise

Well, I can't go to Banff without stopping at Lake Louise. This will probably be the last time I visit the lake with the best name in the world. Once in summer and once in winter, I think that is enough. We hiked up to Mirror Lake and Lake Agnes, it's pretty easy and very rewarding. We thought we were at the top, but then bumped into some Spanish hikers on the way down, they told us it was another 45 minutes upwards before getting to the teahouse and the end of the trail. We went all the way ...

Jasper Trip, Day 2

On Day 2, we drove south towards Athabasca Falls, then headed up a rocky, unpaved road to hike the Geraldine Lakes trail. We made it past the first lake and midway towards the second, finally turning around at a massive rockpile. Afterwards we went into Jasper for a dinner of Japanese food. Details in the photos!

Jasper Trip, Day 1

... townsite around midday, ate lunch in town, got groceries, checked in at the HI hostel, and then went for a short warm-up hike, Valley of the Five Lakes. Afterwards we went back to the hostel to roast hot dogs, but got rained out before I had time for any marshmallows. Gah. The main HI hostel in Jasper isn't the nicest. It has huge, 30-bed dorms, as well as a few "family" rooms that get booked up very early. One of the girls in ...

Jasper

... are full so we spent the Wednesday and Thursday nights in a B&B type place (but without the breakfast!). On the Wednesday we went to the summit of a local mountain - Whistlers mountain. This involved a cable car to 2270M and then a walk up to the top at 2470M. The views from the top were really good and we went a bit further by walking along the peak. We also met a Marmot (a squirrel like creature but ...

Awwwww now we are back home.

The last couple of days in Mexico were good but I got really sick again. On tuesday we wanted to go to Teotiuacan but Jesse opted out because he wasnt feeling good either. I decided to go even though I felt like ****, so I went with a tour. I got to see the shrine of Guadalupe and the miracle piece of cloth. We also went to a local familys' house in a village where they make mezcal and tequila and it was very customary for us to try everything. oloagblah... When we got to ...
