No volies neu ? Dues tasses

Hola a tots,

We went karaoke-ing with Charla Mae

We drove all the way to Banff early in the morning. As soon as we got there, I called Charlamae, and we set up a time to meet for karaoke the next day. Doing this job, it's really cool to know people all over the world. It gives you an interesting perspective when you can sit down with someone like old friends and just chat about the general goings-ons in their hometowns. We met up at Wild Bill's for some karaoke. Keith had planned to go to Banff just so we could show up for karaoke night. Th...

We went hiking/sliding AROUND Tunnel Mountain

From here on in, our trip consisted mainly of hiking, hiking and more hiking. I love hiking. We decided to take a not so steep (but long) trek around Tunnel Mountain and ending up at the world famous hoodoos. I decided not to rent the cleats the lady at the visitor centre recommended because I decided she was "too old" to understand. Turns out she was kind of right. Keith described me as "Bambi on ice" slipping and sliding down the hills. Going up icy BC hills is pretty, it's the going down p...

More hiking at Lake Louise

Well, I can't go to Banff without stopping at Lake Louise. This will probably be the last time I visit the lake with the best name in the world. Once in summer and once in winter, I think that is enough. We hiked up to Mirror Lake and Lake Agnes, it's pretty easy and very rewarding. We thought we were at the top, but then bumped into some Spanish hikers on the way down, they told us it was another 45 minutes upwards before getting to the teahouse and the end of the trail. We went all the way ...

Back in Banff

... so it was very interesting to hear all the history and realise how much the concept and purpose of National Parks has changed.

Have a close look at the picture of the Hoodoos in Bow Valley. There are lots of legends about the Hoodoos but this is the one I like - there were these evil giants wandering around the countryside creating havoc so the great spirit (don't know which one, depends on who you talk to) changed them into rocks. The ...

My journey through the USA & Canada part 1

I landed in Miami, Florida with Shannon after leaving Ecuador. We spent a few days on South Beach in the most partiest of partying hostels I have ever stayed in. We pretty much partied and shopped whilst in Miami, so it was very expensive!. Miami is the typical 'America' you see in movies - set with palm trees, beaches, skimpy outfitted babes and tranny's.. and not to mention the group of trolley clad hobo's - even some legless ones in wheelchairs! (Not that I was excited ...

Jasper Trip, Day 2

On Day 2, we drove south towards Athabasca Falls, then headed up a rocky, unpaved road to hike the Geraldine Lakes trail. We made it past the first lake and midway towards the second, finally turning around at a massive rockpile. Afterwards we went into Jasper for a dinner of Japanese food. Details in the photos!

Jasper Trip, Day 1

... dorm laughed in her sleep all night, and as a result Christine got almost no sleep. The hostel does have a nice big kitchen and dining/common area, as well as a firepit out back, and it's on the road to the Whistler gondola while still being close to the townsite. (In comparison, the HI hostel in Banff townsite has more small rooms; and it's in town, though rather out-of-the-way up the road to Tunnel Mountain. There's an infrequent bus.)

Jasper

... who posed for photos! We have decided that the Canadian Rockies are number 1 on our 'favorite places visited' list - they are just so spectacular!!! More to follow when I get some more money to feed into this damn computer... Dean: Thursday 6th July - Hiking the trails around Jasper. There are a number of trails around Jasper and we did a bit of a 'mix n match', jumping from one trail to another. We walked ...

Awwwww now we are back home.

... visit and all the medication cost me 71 pesos which is the equivillant of about 8 or 9 dollars Canadian. That was the cheapest doctors visit of my life. Teotiuacan from what I was able to remember was simply amazing. So massive and awe inspiring. I learned alot from the guide that day, as well as from all the books I have on the subject at home. I would love to go back one day. I went back to the hostel and went to bed. We got up at 4 am to get a cab. The cab ride was cool ...

almost there...

Well I am almost packed. I went out and got a waterproof disposable camera, tons of film, a new camera case, rechargable batteries and some mp3 headphones. Dont worry - nothing is worth too much. I am only taking 4 bikinis...the absolute minimum!!! We are going to mec before we leave so Jesse can get some sandals. I have to keep telling myself that I cant spend too much money here- I would rather spend it over there. Only 2 more days ...
