This consisted of a parade of 10,000 people dancing, in sync, down the city’s main streets, in yucata, sandals and fans, with the parade song sung live on a loop and tannoyed throughout the ...

I worked with Shun Sawada in 1995 teaching English at Niitsu High School and had the pleasure of meeting his lovely wife, Suzuyo, many times as she taught me Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging. Such a beautiful home, delicious food and stunning Japanese garden and bonsai. A wonderful visit to Yahiko mountain and shrine and the seaside. A trip into Niigata city to Kobari Beach, Sea of Japan. Such kind ...
