... called Playa del Carmen. We had pre-booked our hostel for 5 nights, which was a couple of blocks from the bus terminal. Arrived at Hostel Che, we were early so put our luggage down in lock up and decided to explore the town. Lots of little stalls and markets! A strip actually with restaurants and markets and people. Lots of people. We sat on the beach, then took a leisurely stroll along the beach. At 14:00 we went back to the hostel to check in. We were taken up to our room. Nothing ...

We've spent five nights in Mexico and in almost a week we pretty much did nothing "Mexican". At first, we were jet-lagged and I wasn't feeling so wonderful our first day here, so we spent more of the day inside our apartment rental. The next day, I thankfully felt better, but we didn't know that I would so we didn't book any excursions, but we did enjoy a delicious meal at a Venezuelan restaurant across the street from us on the recommendation ...

So that's what I did for ...

... a backup. What a resort! The Asian Persuasion definitely made it a great time.

I unfortunately figured out the hard way that my $200 waterproof camera isn't as waterproof as stated. It's burnt out and I haven't even hit Europe. Bummer! I'll figure out something. I still have a GoPro and a new Iphone. Not quite the same, but I will make do.

We ended up getting so sunburned that we stayed in our cabins for the ...

... trees with stringy Angkor-Waht-looking things
hanging from them (sorry I don't know how else to describe them), 1
cenote (pool of water in underground cave) and these strange animals
that looked like a mix of a rat with a squirrel and a bunny and they
were huge. Also, they had an ice-cream parlour and tea time every
afternoon that served cookies and coffee with whisky...need I say
more??? through this week ...
