Bamboo Hotel Hue

After returning from Halong Bay we didnt have much planned. We woke to rain and decided to have a lazy day and a late breakfast. We took a walk with Matty & Noosha to get some tickets for the water puppets show that night and headed back to the hotel. We got to Hanoi after a quick plane journey, and here is where the car/moped horn carnage began. Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep. The tones change but the horn action never stops. As you can imagine it's pretty annoying. In Vietnam people beep their automobile horns more than they breathe. If they start the car they give the horn and old tute! Greetings from Hue. Arrived here yesterday after an overnight bus from Ninh Binh. After swearing never to do one again, we kinda had to do it this time as our options were limited with regards transport. So we ended up getting an "open tour bus", whatever that means. In reality it is a bus with all the seats removed with bunk beds put in in their place. After sleep in Bangkok airport on the floor we have arrived in hanoi. Already taken with the place ad we've only been here a few hours. Crazy busy, weird thin tall houses just like amsterdam but they are are detached and very ornate, looks like they do that thing they do in Italy where as the family grows they just build another floor ontop of the existing house, that's just s a guess though.

I have just written an entire blog entry on yesterday and tried to publish it, the computor crashed so I now have to do it all over again. ARGH! I even got up early so that I would be up to date, so I am not a happy bunny. But i'll begin again.... We woke up very excited to start the mopeding day, but alas some practicalities needed to be sorted out, i.e. laundy, A.T.M etc. Any time we get to do laundry is a complete blessing, as all our clothes have been worn at least once on very hot sweaty...

Il viaggio notturno in pulman e' andato bene... meglio del previsto e alle 9.30 am eravamo gia' nella stanza dell'hotel scelto (Bamboo Hotel) nella citta' di Hue. Dopo un pochino di relax e aver organizzato le tappe sucessive del nostro viaggio, noleggiamo uno scooter. Marco si diverte tanto a scovare le stradine per raggiungere i luoghi da visitare e sinceramente con questo mezzo ci spostiamo piu' rapidamente e autonomamente. Ok........... So we left Hoi An for a 4 hour bus ride to Hue. I have to admit Hue was a bit of a fizzer for us after being in Hoi An. We arrived at our hotel and it was VERY basic but it was so clean so we were happy.
