    ... s a basic cafe style upstairs, fake laminated light wood tables crammed in and a fast food style service. The staple food for Vietnamese is Phó (pronounced "For") a noodle soup, come chowder l, thin stock with lots of filling. Phó Bo is beef and Phó Ga, chicken. They have it any time of the day our guide had it for breakfast and evening meal. Very tasty, I had a regular sized bowl and a beer for less than £3, highly recommended.

    Hoi An is, on one level, a bit of a confection. What is at its core a lovely small city near the coast, with narrow streets of wooden-fronted shop fronts, temples and Chinese merchant houses, has, through tourism, been become something close to a Disney town, filed with lanterns, restaurants offering cooking classes, souvenir shops, and, of course, tourists.
