    Oh what splendour, what history, what grandeur and what clever people we have in our world to build such incredible places. Anyone coming to France we think should stop and have a look at this marvel but not from mid July till mid August apparently when more than 8000 visitors a day come to look.     ... Pilgrims would walk over the mud flats when tepees were out. A causeway was later built as more and more people travelled to the island. The Abbey was enlarged several times and a beautiful spire was added around 2008 via a helicopter! We walked up to the abbey and toured it using the audio guide. Very large rooms, no furniture. Large fireplaces but I do not see how they kept it warm at all??? It rained almost the whole time ...
