A travel blog entry by bevbag on Jan 04, 2015

Woke this morning with a summer cold. Nose, throat, headache, the whole 9 yards. So breakfast and then the pharmacy. The good thing about chemists In Asia is you rarely need a script for most things. So, a card of psudoefidrine in hand. We spend the day exploring the city and eating. There is not a great deal to see in Tawau. It is usual for people to use it as a place to do the ferry hop into Indonesia, which we have decided to pass on to save a day for further travels within ...

We find a great room at MyInn for approx $30, with air con, windows and wifi, all our dreams come true. OMG how good does that shower feel after being in the forest for the last 3 days. We went for a wander around the city, it seems much like Sandakan, closes early. The local lads ...

I only kept asking myself if it's all worth it. My destination? Sulawesi! Where?? I have no clue!!  Ship from Tawau to Indonesian side Nunukan was crazy! I had no idea about Indonesian ...

... and rustling in the trees all around us. A troop of wild monkeys arrived and entertained us for ages. They were playing in the water (which we have never seen before) jumping between trees, treating the trees like firemans poles, chasing each other, fighting with and loving each other and generally just monkeying around. We spent a very really relaxed day, wandering around, reading our books, admiring the wildlife(the butterflies here were something else) ...

... hour or more. There're a couple of people who will be reading this blog who are meeting me in Kota Kinablu,  just a word of warning, after this amount of time in the tropics you might not want to get too near to this riding suit or even stand too close downwind!  There are several hundred people tightly packed into a raceway waiting to be processed when after getting my passport stamped the customs guy decided that I needed to bring my bike to him ...
