Hi all, we are still in Silves. Unbeknown to us, we seem to have landed on one of the best campsites around and now we are reluctant to move on. It is good as we are close to the historical town centre (5 mins) which is seriously old (still the Moors and Christians fighting after they kicked out the Romans), there is electric connections, free internet, a supermarket two minutes away, good showers, few tourists and loads ...

... just down the road from us which makes it easy to shop for fresh bread and cheese everyday. We have decided to stay here another week or so as it is actually quite nice despite the full campsite. We are told that it is full everywhere at this time of the year. There is lots more to explore in the town and lots of walking and cycling paths.We are on the edge of the campsite with a farm next door. The goats and sheep come past regular and there is the constant clapping ...

... is low season, almost every beach was deserted. Though the water was still too cold to go in without a wetsuit, it remained refreshing and pleasant to dive into. I didn't expect to fully dive into the water to be honest, but a good ol' surprise wave flipped our kayak sending that idea out to sea.

I don't often feel a longing to return to a place I have already been, but Lagos certainly has a piece of my heart and I would jump at the chance to go again. ...
