      ... is the least religious place in Europe and it feels much calmer for it, they even tried to build an atheist church that they took the funding for but never got round to putting anything inside it, my sort of people. Given the lack of religion everywhere there was so many people with beards to rival Jesus.       ... castle ruins there were all but covered in grass however they beat those at old Kuldiga castle! From here we walked the Sepentine road to Gutmanala cave, named after the "good man" who used to love there and people would visit him to be healed. Here we also read about the tale of the Rose of Turaida, a tragic tale about a local beauty.       ... crack a smile and it will be worth all the time and respect you gave to this amazing “Paris of the East” city.

      Well these are just some of the many reasons that I was drawn into this European haven and one can see now how it is not much of a secret why I moved to Riga... Plus it is a short trip to the airport to hop on a cheap Ryan air flight to my other destinations for next post:)
