... took me about three hours to get to Donegal, with a couple of coffee stops along the way. When I got here though I was really beat. I went for lunch, checked into my guesthouse and then succumbed to an attack of the lazies. My main reason for coming here is because Castle McGrath is nearby. Ok - so we left Ballyshannon on our way to Westport. Great ocean views and a lot of cattle/sheep. Great ride - I really like Sliago area - the town of Innisscone has some great beaches.

So we are now in Westport - having dinner on the quay - tomorrow night we head to the pub by the name of Matt Molloy - owned by the Chieftains - if I have to tell you who the Chieftains are - well - you are not Irish nor do you like Van Morrison.

... and a rest I completed the circuit and returned to our hotel for a lunch of soup in the bar. After a rest I drove down to Rosses point and walked along the beach. Back at the hotel Marg filled me in on her meeting and we then planned our trip fro tomorrow which we had left open until now. We dined in town at a lovely pub called Hargadons after successfully negotiating the one way streets of Sligo ...

... min drive along the N17. The hotel is set in pleasant grounds with beds of brightly coloured begonias. It is a busy hub for local conferences and the restaurant and bar are well patronised. There is also a leisure centre that was available for our use. I swam as much as the frozen shoulder would allow and then chilled out in the 'jacuzzi'. Very refreshing.
