... a New Year's Eve in Venice....so I tagged along. It is incredible how long can it take for the time to come around and start your journey. And when you are there, the time flies! I can't wait to begin this year adventure, but until the time comes, I'll wait.
Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland wpabon... director of the UNESCO Geneva branch, and also probably one with a man who works at UNDP. So, I am pretty busy... It's a 30 page paper and my outline with sources pasted in is 23 pages... now I just have to write... ugh.
I have become ever closer with my host family these last few weeks, and enjoy lots of conversations with them. My French continues to improve thanks to the pushing of my host mom. My host dad and I like to ...
... 8217; flags through the gate…so there wasn’t really much consolation. Plus it was raining. However, there was at least one sculpture that we could look at because it was outside: a monumental sculpture of a chair with its fourth leg partly blown off, a symbol to encourage action against landmines. It was actually really cool. Since we were locked out of the UN, we went straight to the Red Cross Museum, where phase one of my productive ...

Got the train to Basel again then a coffee I needed the toilet so went off to find it taking only a small amount of swiss francs with me as we did not have many as we had not been in Switzerland. So it basically was Jon and I intruding on some Bell and Ring quality time, its was great, they treated us like we were their kids too =). Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland sofenjonWe sadly left Chamonix and vowed to return there in the winter, and drove to Annecy. Annecy was kind of a repeat of Prague, beautiful old city, on the water, with canals... we were kind of sick of that scene by then. They are applying to have the 2018 Olympics there, with the ski events at Mont Blanc. It would be a nice venue for sure.
Annecy, Rhône-Alpes, France sofenjon... and accordingly are less used. The cost for us was about E55 for the day. Naturally the tunnel is expensive, but on the flatter country there did not seem any point in the tollway and I think we saved 15 to 20 Euro by coming off once we realised what was going on.
Coming back to France is much easier for us as we have some French between us. Certainly enough to read most things and ...
Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland teacorn... except for the main road and a small side road leading into the woods. The directions on the Geneva hash website (for those of you who don't know, hashing is a running/beer drinking activity with groups all over the world) said to get off at the Collex-Bossy stop and walk 150m down the road to find the start. We explored down the side road and found some flour marks, so we figured we were in the right place. After all our luggage-lugging in the ...
