... back home. I quickly got my boarding pass for the Nairobi flight, but then met a huge back-up at the security checkpoint. Hundreds of people were waiting to reach a security check-point in another room that wasn’t even visible to us. The line was moving at the speed of cold molasses. The wait would take at least an hour, likely more. While thinking over my options, I heard several varieties of French being spoken, as well as English, German, Spanish, and ...
Roissy-en-France, Île-de-France, France joelmeeker... calls for next to nothing. I was so pleased to have my computer with me (normally, I never travel with expensive electronics) and my music, the net. Day two in Paris. Tuesday. I decided to join the free walking tour offered by a company in the city who sends guides to Parisian hostels to pick all of us "youngins" up and take us on a tour of the city. The tour was led by an Aussie named Peter, a wonderful tour guide as it turns out. We spent the afternoon, about forty of us, following ...
Paris, France gracielastanley... at st. George's Square and then off to the impressive Picasso museum, boy could he wave a brush around!! Rather oddly, we found a fake beach in the middle of Paris and some women were doing aqua-aerobics!! To finish off with, we went to the history of Paris museum and visited the glorious gardens. We are writing this with full tums as we ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France jamhev270708... people were taking Sunday strolls, and the sun itself seemed to follow me as I walked the residential streets. I eventually made my way to Sacre-Coeur, which was marked by a 500% increase in tourist congestion. I had to brave an ally-way where stereotypical keychain-and-shot-glass tourist fare was out in full force and swindler's tables were set up all along its length. Once I breached this gauntlet, I could look up the hill and see the basilica in full splendor in front ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France kyle.ackerman... thoroughly, before going back to the bike to check on his radio before we were finally allowed to proceed. Jeff and I had gotten rid of most of our Euro's as it was the last country we needed to use them in and I kept thinking what we were going to do if we had to somehow catch a cab with all our luggage if the policeman wouldn't let him take us. It was quite a relief when we arrived at the airport for our Air Europe flight to Prague! Till next time...
Paris, Île-de-France, France annette_duttoni loved paris, it was everything i expected it to be. alot of places are hyped up by these bolloks guide books and when ya get there its a bit of an anti climax. i didnt feel that at all tho here, i was actually not lookin forward to the hassle of it all as id looked into accomodation and the metro etc and it all seemed to be a massive ball ache, but it was really easy to navigate and i found my hostel pice of ****. so, after dumpin my bags i first a place called the concord ...
Paris, France jordanblair100... t help change my existing attitudes towards French rap.) 3. & ;nbs p; the girls cooked. 4. & ;nbs p; the girls cooked! Like, seriously, what type of culture lets girls anywhere near the barbeque, let alone cook on it? It really was quite strange looking around to see all the guys chatting at the table while the girls chatted around the fire. 5. & ;nbs p; that's it after the barby mag and I met up ...
Paris, France benjcoxParis is a great city. I am finally at a good keyboard so i can type a bit more. Anyhow, I have visited about 8 musueums/monuments and I am impressed. The city is wonderfullly beautiful at night and the people are truly passionate. I see so many couples holding hangs, hugging, and kissing. Very romantic. In any case, I am leaving on Monday so I shouldn't get too attached to the place, but I know I'll be back-- probably in the summer...
Paris, France tototheturtle... Isles, I can't see myself doing them again (except London). I will return to Europe... but will do it in a season either side of Summer. These French keyboards are awful. Much worse than the Chinese. Getting around on the underground is awful as it takes so long. Each trip is taking up to an hour. I'm completely undecided as to whether I like Paris or London more... the French have been OK but the language barrier is ...
Paris, France shanewilson... though they were allowing tourits inside you had to be pretty quiet and quickly ,make your way through. It's beautiful inside with beautiful high ceilings and lots of stained glass windows. Once we left the cathedral we decided to find some lucnh so we stopped at a little cafe near the Louvre and got some crepes. They were so yummy and huge. I got a bacon and cheese one and even though it was so good I couldn't ...
