... had for 10mins and after they cool taking the skins off and we are going to freeze them to do with them what we please. We did mix them with a brill savoury sausage meat open pie, really delicious and a bit of crunchy texture. We took a canvass bag, a bag for life type and wondered into the woods, 15 mins later we had about 5 kilos of nuts by just picking them off the ground and being picky ...

... of Tierry) and we were not disappointed. A very narrow road for Pierre to negotiate for the last 2-3km, but it was worth it. A real fairytale village, with a lovely old bridge over the river, a chateaux on the hill and a very old church at the end of the bridge and as for the houses they were quite extraordinary. The owner told us about the unfortunate people on the Cote d'Azure, that had 6" of rain between 10pm & midnight and 14 people had died. We have TV tonight so will have to catch up on the news, sounded devastating. After our usual lunch and that cheap Rose, was very nice, wish we had ...

We were rather dreading today, as we knew it would probably be rainy, and we had to first climb down to the very bottom of the gorge below Conques, cross the Dourdou river, on a pont Romain, then do a massive ascent up the other side. Well it wasn't so bad - I mean it was a never ending uphill on a stony path, and it was sprinkling slightly, but we were protected by the overhead trees and didn't put on ponchos till ...
